said, to a point on the southern boundary of Section 3, Block III,

the southern boundary of that section to the right bank of the
Pakihi Stream ; thence down the said bank of that stream to a
point in line with the northern boundary of Section 4, Block III

right line from Trig. Stations 139 and Arowhana; thence north-
easterly along that right line to Arowhana Trig. Station; thence
along a right line in the direction of Kapua Trig. Station to its
intersection with the production of a right line from Trig. Station 318
through Trig. Station Teritua; thence easterly to and along
that right line to Trig. Station 318 aforesaid; thence southerly
along the western boundary of Section 5, Block XIV, Hikurangi
Survey District, and the abutment of a public road to the southern
side of that road; thence easterly generally along the southern side
of that road, passing through Section 5 aforesaid, Huiarua No. 2
Block, Sections 3, 2, and 1, Block XIV aforesaid, and forming the
southern boundary of Section 5, Block XV, Hikurangi Survey
District, passing through Hauturu Block, Section 2, Block XV
aforesaid, Pouturu No. 2 Block, and Whakamarutuna No. 2 Block,
forming the southern boundary of Crown land, Paraeroa No. 2
Block, and passing through Section 2, Block XVI, Hikurangi Survey
District, across the Mata River, and passing through Puketiti Block,
Ruangarehu No. 1 Block, again Puketiti Block, again Ruangarehu
No. 1 Block, and again Puketiti Block to the Ihungia Bridge across
Ihungia River; thence again easterly along a right line to the
north-western corner of Te Puia Township, and along the northern
boundary of that township to its north-eastern corner; thence
south-easterly along a right line in the direction of the mouth of
the Waihuru Stream to the sea-coast; thence southerly and south-
westerly generally along the sea-coast to Paritu, the point of com-
mencement, and including all adjacent islands.

Advancement Act, 1945

A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to section six of the Maori Social and Economic
Advancement Act, 1945, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard
Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby declare the parts of New Zealand described in
the Schedule hereto to be a tribal district for the purposes of the
said Act, and do hereby assign to the said district the name
“Raukawa Tribal District.”

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, comprising the
County of Horowhenua, as described in New Zealand Gazette of
1927, at page 1941; the County of Manawatu, as described in

as described in New Zealand Gazette of 1925, at page 3297; the
County of Kairanga, as described in New Zealand Gazette of 1942,
at page 1860; the County of Oroua, as described in New Zealand
Gazette of 1939, at page 1582; the County of Kiwitea, as
described in New Zealand Gazette of 1926, at page 3515; the
Borough of Foxton, as described in New Zealand Gazette of 1941,
at page 86; the Borough of Feilding, as described in New Zealand
Gazette of 1939, at page 1582; the Borough of Shannon, as
described in New Zealand Gazette of 1918, at page 459; the
Borough of Levin, as described in New Zealand Gazette of 1906,

northerly to Trig. Station Wharite on the eastern corner of
Section 6, Block VII, Gorge Survey District, and being a point
on the boundary of the aforesaid county.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section one hundred and twelve of the Public
Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
order and declare that the portion of road described in the Schedule
hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become
a county road.
