The Board shall control the said reserve and the building erected thereon for the purposes of a memorial public hall, and shall also afford settlers and residents of Ratanui and the surrounding district such facilities for meeting within the said hall as may from time to time be determined by the Board; provided that the Board shall have power to fix reasonable charges for the use of the said hall.

PURSUANT to section one hundred and twenty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolution passed by the Mount Eden Borough Council on the twenty-sixth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven (in so far as it affects the side and portion of street described in the Schedule hereto), viz.:-

"The Mount Eden Borough Council, being the local authority having control of the streets in the Borough of Mount Eden, by resolution declares that the provisions of section one hundred and twenty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1928, shall not apply to the portion of Carrick Place adjoining Lot 2 and parts Lots 1 and 7, D.P. 181, being part Allotment 8, Section 10, Suburbs of Auckland, comprised in Certificate of Title 462/181";

subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the land fronting the north-eastern side of the portion of Carrick Place (described in the Schedule hereto) within a distance of thirty-three feet from the centre-line of the said portion of street.
