The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of Discharged Servicemen

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the intention of the Minister of Lands to take under Part II of the said Act the lands described in the Schedule hereto, and a copy of the said notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 23 on the 1st day of May, 1947, at page 519 :

And whereas no objection was made in the manner prescribed by the said Act :

And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship :

Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 27 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the lands described in the said Schedule are taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 1st day of July, 1947, as the date on which the said lands shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area situate in Blocks IX, XIII, and XIV, Rangitoto Survey District, containing by admeasurement two hundred and forty-eight (248) acres three (3) roods and five (5) perches, more or less, being part Sections 34, 34A, 2 of 38, and 44, Rangitikei District, and being also Lots 7 and 8 on a plan deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington, numbered 4673, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 366, folio 88 (Wellington Registry).

Also all that area situate in Blocks V and VI, Koitiata Survey District, and Blocks IX and XIII, Rangitoto Survey District, containing by admeasurement nine hundred and seventy-one (971) acres and twenty-eight (28) perches, more or less, being parts of Sections 44 and 45 and parts of Blocks CXL, CXLII, CXLIV, CXLVI, and CXLVIII, Rangitikei District, and being also Lots 11, 12, 13, and 16 on a plan deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington, numbered 4674, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 417, folio 96 (Wellington Registry).

At the Government House at Wellington, this 25th day of June, 1947

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke an Order in Council dated the seventh day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-five, and published in the Gazette of the thirteenth day of that month, appointing a Domain Board to control the Kerepeehi Domain, and doth hereby appoint

Howard Gordon McGowan,
Donald Gordon McMillan,
Dudley Alexander Hill,
Reginald Stanley Harvey,
Leslie George Ratcliffe,
Alan Henry Hayes,
Robert Herbert Collins,
Percy George Pearce, and
Claude Francis Pearce

to be the Kerepeehi Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto ; and doth hereby appoint Monday, the seventh day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven, at eight o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Kerepeehi Hall, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

SCHEDULE

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—KEREPEEHI DOMAIN

ALL that area containing by admeasurement 25 acres 0 roods 35 perches, more or less, being Section 71, Block VI, Waihou Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/1/145, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (Auckland plan S.O. 27482.)
