All that area in the North Auckland Land District, Whangarei
County, containing by admeasurement 2 acres 0 roods 36 perches,
more or less, being Section 14, Block V, Purua Survey District.
As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 9/18,
deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington,
and thereon bordered red. (North Auckland plan S.O. 10563D.)
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the
Seal of that Dominion, this 18th day of June, 1947.

Crown Land set apart as a Permanent State Forest

A PROCLAMATION
BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon me by section eighteen of the Forests Act, 1921–22, I,
Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the
Crown land described in the Schedule hereto as a permanent State
forest.
SCHEDULE
WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT.—WESTLAND CONSERVANCY
All that area in Westland Land District, Grey County, containing
by admeasurement 1 acre 0 roods 16·9 perches, more or less, being
Reserve 1878, Block III, Ahaura Survey District. As the same is
more particularly delineated on plan No. 120/35, deposited in the
Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon
bordered red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the
Seal of that Dominion, this 20th day of June, 1947.

A PROCLAMATION
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred
upon me by subsection one of section eight of the Housing
Amendment Act, 1940, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril
Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
do hereby proclaim and declare the land described in the Schedule
hereto, being land subject to the Housing Act, 1919, to be Crown
land available for reservation under the Land Act, 1924.
SCHEDULE
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT
All that area situated in City of Lower Hutt, containing by
admeasurement 2 roods 25 perches, more or less, being Lot 53
on S.O. plan 20369, and being part Section 14, Hutt District, and
accretion thereto. As the same is more particularly delineated on
the plan marked L. and S. 1/754/1A, deposited in the Head Office,
Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered
red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the
Seal of that Dominion, this 19th day of June, 1947.

Constituting the Borough of Kaikohe

A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of section one
hundred and thirty-five of the Municipal Corporations Act,
1933, a petition was presented to the Governor-General praying
that the area described in the said petition be constituted a new
borough:
And whereas the provisions of the said section one hundred and
thirty-five have been complied with in respect thereto, and the
result of the poll taken on the proposal that the area should be
constituted a new borough was in favour thereof:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities vested in me by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933,
I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and
declare that the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be
constituted a borough under the said Act as on and from the first
day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven, that
the name of such borough shall be the Borough of Kaikohe, and
that the number of Councillors to be elected to the Council of the
said borough shall be six, exclusive of the Mayor:
And I do further proclaim and declare that Kenneth William
Harold, of Kaikohe, shall be the Returning Officer to conduct
the first election of Mayor and Councillors of the said borough;
and that the said Kenneth William Harold shall be the Town
Clerk and the person to prepare the district electors’ roll for the
purposes of the said first election:
And, lastly, I do proclaim and declare that the first election of
Mayor and Councillors of the said borough shall be held on
Wednesday, the twentieth day of August, one thousand nine
hundred and forty-seven, and that the first meeting of the Council
of the said borough shall be held on Monday, the eighth day of
September, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven, at seven-
thirty o’clock in the afternoon, in the office of the Town Board,
Kaikohe.
SCHEDULE
BOROUGH OF KAIKOHE
ALL that area of approximately 1,342 acres in the North Auckland
Land District, situated in Block XV, Omapere Survey District, and
being the whole of the Kaikohe Town District, and an adjoining
portion of the County of Bay of Islands, bounded by a line com-
mencing at a point on the right bank of the Mangamutu Stream,
being the north-eastern corner of Taraire No. 1B 1c 2 Block, and
running easterly generally down the right bank of the said Manga-
mutu Stream to the south-western boundary of part Taraire No. 2A
2 Block; thence along the south-western and south-eastern bound-
aries of the said No. 2A 2 Block, the south-eastern boundary of
part Taraire No. 2G 3 Block, a right line across a public road, to
and along another part of the south-eastern boundary of the afore-
said No. 2G 3 Block, and the south-eastern boundary of Taraire
No. 2G 2 Block, to the right bank of the Wairoro River; thence
southerly generally down the right bank of the aforesaid Wairoro
River to the northern boundary of Kohewhata No. 6A Block;
thence westerly generally along the northern and western bound-
aries of the said No. 6A Block to a point in line with the south-
eastern boundary of Kohewhata No. 47 Block; thence along a
right line across the Mangakahia Road, to and along a part of the
said south-eastern boundary, a right line across the North Auckland
Main Trunk Railway, to and along another part of the south-eastern
boundary of the aforesaid No. 47 Block for distances of 611·4, 50,
and 37·5 links; thence along right lines intersecting the last-
mentioned block, bearing 274° 35’ distant 402·5 links, and bearing
207° 52' distant 912·3 links; thence along a right line, to and along
the northern boundary of part Kohewhata No. 69 Block, along a
right line across part Kohewhata No. 65c Block, to and along the
northern boundaries of Rangihamama C and I Blocks, and a right
line being the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the
middle of the Waikaka Stream; thence up the middle of the said
Waikaka Stream to a point in line with the north-western bound-
ary of Tuhuna No. 16 Block; thence along a right line to and
along the said north-western boundary, and along the north-eastern
boundary of Tuhuna No. 6B Block, along the north-eastern and
north-western boundaries of Waikotihe Block, the northern bound-
aries of part Tuhuna No. 7G 2 Block, Tuhuna No. 7D 1 Block, and
another part Tuhuna No. 7C 2 Block to the eastern boundary of
Tuhuna No. 6F Block; thence northerly generally along the said
eastern boundary, the eastern boundary of Tuhuna No. 6A 2 Block,
crossing the intervening North Auckland Main Trunk Railway, and
along the northern boundary of Tuhuna No. 2 Block, the eastern
boundary of Taraire No. 103 Block, the south-eastern boundaries of
parts Taraire No. 1C and 1T Blocks, and the south-eastern and
north-eastern boundaries of another part Taraire No. 1T Block to a
public road; thence easterly along the southern side of the said
public road to the northern corner of Taraire No. 1X 1B 2 Block;
thence northerly along a right line, across the said public road, to
and along the eastern boundary of Taraire No. 1D 2C Block, and a
right line being the said eastern boundary produced to a public
road; thence south-easterly along the south-western side of that
road to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Taraire
No. 1D 1B 6 Block; thence north-easterly and northerly along a right
line, across the said public road, to and along the said south-eastern
boundary and the south-western and eastern boundaries of Taraire
No. 1B 1C 2 Block, to the point of commencement: be the afore-
mentioned measurements more or less.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal
of that Dominion, this 24th day of June, 1947.
