NOTICE is hereby given in pursuance of the Regulations Act, 1936, of the making of regulations and orders as under:—

CROWN LANDS NOTICES

Land in the Southland Land District forfeited

Department of Lands and Survey, Wellington, 30th May, 1947.

NOTICE is hereby given that the lease of the undermentioned land having been declared forfeit by resolution of the Southland Land Board, the said land has thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

NOTICE is hereby given that the lease of the undermentioned land having been declared forfeit by resolution of the Southland Land Board, the said land has thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

Land in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures

North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 10th June, 1947.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o’clock a.m. on Monday, 14th July, 1947.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Tuesday, 15th July, 1947, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and deposit in reduction of weighting for improvements.

SCHEDULE

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND
Whangarei County.—Purua Survey District

SECTION 3, Block III: Area, 224 acres 2 roods. Capital value, £220. Deposit on deferred payments, £20. Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments (term: ten years), £13 2s. 8d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £4 8s.

Section 4, Block III: Area, 261 acres 1 rood 7 perches. Capital value, £250. Deposit on deferred payments, £25. Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments (term: ten years), £14 15s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £5.

Section 3 is weighted with £30 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising half-share 40 chains boundary-fencing.

The sections are situated on the Otakairangi-Jordan Road about fourteen miles distant by good metalled road from Whangarei, seven miles from the Hikurangi Post-office, Railway-station, and Dairy Factory, and ten miles from Kamo Saleyards. Otakairangi School is three-quarters of a mile away.

Section 4.—100 acres relatively high; covered in stony tea-tree; blackberry infested. Lies along road. Remainder, fire-swept swamp. All flat.

Section 3.—Lower than Section 4; divided by canal. Back portion difficult of access. 140 acres fairly strong tea-tree and 80 acres approximately natural clearing in wi-wi and rushes. Flat and easy.

Both sections have peat soil of good quality. However, subject to severe flooding and not suitable for erection of buildings.
