THE following special order made by the Opotiki Borough Council on the 17th day of December, 1946, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928.

SPECIAL ORDER

“THAT, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, the Opotiki Borough Council hereby resolves and declares, by way of special order, that the plant mentioned in the Schedule hereto (being a plant mentioned in the Second Schedule to the said Act, as extended from time to time by the Governor-General in Council) is a noxious weed within the Borough of Opotiki.”

THE following special order made by the Egmont County Council on the 10th day of December, 1946, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928.

SPECIAL ORDER

“THAT, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, the Egmont County Council hereby resolves and declares, by way of special order, that hemlock (Conium maculatum), being a plant mentioned in the Second Schedule to the said Act, is a noxious weed within the County of Egmont.”

Election of Members of the Fruit Marketing Council

NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to Regulation 5:1 (6) of the Apple and Pear Marketing Regulations 1942, Amendment No. 1, the undermentioned have been duly elected as members of the Fruit Marketing Council:—

Malcolm Alexander Cruickshank,
Arthur Clifford Murdoch Ward, and
Leslie Bond Robinson.

The Land and Income Tax' (Annual) Act, 1946.--Income-tax payable

IN accordance with Order in Council dated 18th September, 1946, issued under the Land and Income Tax Act, 1923, and the Land and Income Tax (Annual) Act, 1946, I hereby notify that the income-tax leviable under section 3 of the latter Act is payable at any office of the Land and Income Tax Department or at any money-order post-office, in one sum on Wednesday, the 12th February, 1947, and that additional tax accrues if not paid by 5th March, 1947. Liability is not suspended by any objection, and tax must be paid by the prescribed date to avoid additional percentage; any overpayment will be refunded.

Demands will be issued on or about 5th February, 1947, and must be presented with all payments. Taxpayers who do not receive an expected demand should communicate with the Superintendent of the office of the Land and Income Tax Department where the taxpayer's records are filed. If any taxpayer is in doubt as to the location of his records he should communicate with the Commissioner of Taxes, Wellington.

Price Order No. 647 (Amending Price Order No. 128) (Eggs)

PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939,* the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order :—

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 647, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 128† (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).

  2. This Order shall come into force on the 27th day of January, 1947.

  3. The Second and Third Schedules to the principal Order, as set out in Price Order No. 627‡, are hereby revoked, and the following Schedules substituted therefor respectively :—
