determining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said
order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within
any further time allowed by the Court:
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman
who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of
His Majesty's Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance
of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said
land is taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby
specifies the 14th day of March, 1947, as the date on which the said
land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing three hundred and forty-three
(343) acres, more or less, being Lot 7 on Deposited Plan No. 743,
and being part of Section 2, Block I, and part of Sections 7 and 13,
Block II, Waihopai District, situated in Block XIV, Avon Survey
District (the same being subject to grant of easement, watercourse
and water rights over part of the above land as defined on Deposited
Plan No. 933, created by Transfer No. 8126), and being the whole
of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 25, folio 291
(Marlborough Registry).
Also all that parcel of land containing seven thousand five
hundred and seventy-one (7,571) acres and three (3) roods, more or
less, being part of Lot 3 on Deposited Plan No. 669, and being
Sections 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 61, 62, 65, 66, and
67, and parts of Sections 46, 47, 48, 49, 63, and 64, Waihopai District,
and being part of Section 1, Block VII, part of Sections 1 and 3,
Block VIII, part of Section 1, Block XII, and Sections 2, 3, and 4,
Block XIII, Avon Survey District (appurtenant thereto being certain
rights to waters of the Waihopai River and right-of-way over part
of Section 49, Waihopai District, shown coloured yellow on
Deposited Plan No. 1044, as created by Transfer 9018), and being
the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 31, folio
98 (Marlborough Registry).

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice
declaring Land taken for the Settlement of Discharged Servicemen
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen's Settlement-
ment and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the
intention of the Minister of Lands to take under Part II of the
said Act the lands described in the Schedule hereto, and a copy
of the said notice was published in the Gazette on the 27th day of
June, 1946, at page 915:
And whereas an objection was made by the owner, in the
manner prescribed by the said Act, objecting to the taking of the
said lands:
And whereas the owner withdrew such objection and agreed to
an amended vesting date:
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman
who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of
His Majesty's Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance
of section 27 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the lands
described in the Schedule hereto are taken for the settlement of
discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 28th day of March,
1947, as the date on which the said lands shall be deemed to be
vested in His Majesty the King.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT
ALL those parcels of land containing together one thousand one
hundred and eighty-seven (1,187) acres two (2) roods, more or

to parcels (Otago Registry).
Also all those parcels of land containing together eighty-five
(85) acres and thirty-six (36) perches, more or less, being parts of

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice
of Intention to take Land
THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the
Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby
gives notice of his intention to take the lands described in the
Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the
28th day of February, 1947, as the date on which possession of the
land is required, and the 11th day of February, 1947, as the date
on or before which objections may be made under section 25 of the
said Act.
SCHEDULE
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement two hundred
and seventy-six (276) acres two (2) roods, more or less, situate in
Block II, Arawaru Survey District, being Section 334, and being
the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 38,
folio 168 (Wellington Registry).
Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement
three hundred and seven (307) acres, more or less, situate in Block II,
Arawaru Survey District, being Section 335, and being all the
land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 38, folio 169 (Wellington
Registry).
Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement four
hundred and fifty-seven (457) acres twenty-seven (27) perches,
