Vesting Land in the Selwyn Plantation Board

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 7th day of May, 1947

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. P. FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection three of section one hundred and seventy-one of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal and Public Bodies’ Empowering Act, 1924, and subsection two of section thirteen of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal Act, 1931, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be vested in the Selwyn Plantation Board, in trust, for plantation purposes.

SCHEDULE

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area containing by admeasurement 20 acres, more or less, being Lot 1 on plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Christchurch as number 12897, and being part Reserve 1809, situated in Block XI, Selwyn Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 491350, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Polling-places for the Avon Electoral District appointed

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the Electoral Act, 1927, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby abolish all existing polling-places, and do hereby appoint the places mentioned in the Schedule hereto to be the polling-places in the said Electoral District of Avon.

Land permanently reserved in the Wellington Land District for County Purposes

B. C. FREYBERG, Governor-General

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned :

And whereas by the three-hundred-and-sixtieth section of the said Act it is provided that land temporarily reserved under the said three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section may, at the expiration of one month but not later than six months, after the publication in the Gazette of notice of such temporary reservation, be permanently reserved, and that notice of such permanent reservation shall be published in the Gazette :

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto was, by the Warrant dated the twenty-fourth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven, and published in the Gazette of the twenty-seventh day of that month, temporarily reserved under the authority of the said Act for county purposes :

Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby permanently reserve the land described in the Schedule hereto for county purposes for which purpose the said land was so temporarily reserved as aforesaid.
