THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE
Price Order No. 695 (Patons and Baldwins Wools and other Goods)
Pursuant to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939,* the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following Price Order:-
PRELIMINARY
- This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 695, and shall come into force on the 9th day of May, 1947.
- (1) Price Orders No. 575† and No. 607‡ are hereby revoked.
(2) The revocation of the said Orders shall not affect the liability of any person for any offence in relation thereto committed before the coming into force of this Order.
APPLICATION OF THIS ORDER
- This Order applies only with respect to Patons and Baldwins wools and other goods of the kinds specified in the Schedule hereto.
FIXING MAXIMUM RETAIL PRICES OF GOODS TO WHICH THIS ORDER APPLIES
- The maximum price that may be charged or received by any retailer for any goods to which this Order applies shall be the appropriate price set out in the Schedule hereto.

In accordance with the Second Schedule to the Education Act, 1914, it is notified that Mr. Robert Russell Hunter has been duly elected as a member of the Education Board of the District of Otago for the Urban Area.

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit
M. D. Branch, Thornton, Bay of Plenty, has applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises at Thornton.
W. Stevens and W. Young, Takapau Trading Co., Takapau, have applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on store premises at Takapau.
K. A. Pearson and W. R. Williams, Matamata, have applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on proposed store premises at Lichfield.
L. I. Gaelic, Waihopo, has applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on garage and service-station premises at Waihopo.
Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than the 22nd May, 1947, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender. Alterations in Light
Position : Lat., 36° 23' S.; long., 174° 08' E. (approx.).
New Abridged Description : Fl. 10 sec., 276 ft., 23 M. (U).
Alterations : On or about the 14th May the light will be replaced by an unwatched automatic light flashing white every 10 seconds with flash of 1 second. Elevation altered to 276 ft. Height of tower altered to 40 ft. Harbour arc of visibility 339° to 301°. Signal station and telephone have been discontinued. No further notice will be given.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES
Town Land in the Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease
Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 6th April, 1947.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924 ; and applications for those described in the First Schedule will be received at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o'clock a.m. on Friday, 20th June, 1947.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Tuesday, 24th June, 1947, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period rent, lease fee (if any), and amount of weighting for improvements.
