Price Order No. 684 (Amending Price Orders Nos. 489, 490, and 491) (Fresh Green Beans—Canned)

PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939,* the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order:—

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 684, and shall be read together with and deemed part of each of the several Price Orders specified in the First Schedule hereto.

  2. This Order shall come into force on the 1st day of May, 1947.

  3. Each of the Price Orders specified in the First Schedule is hereby amended by omitting the Schedule thereto and substituting in each case the following Schedule:—

Price Order No. 685 (Amending Price Order No. 492) (Fresh Green Beans canned by J. R. Butland Pty., Ltd.)

PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939,* the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order:—

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 685, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 492† (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).

  2. This Order shall come into force on the 1st day of May, 1947.

  3. The Schedule to the principal Order is hereby amended by omitting the prices “8s. 6d.” and “1s. 0d.,” and substituting the prices “9s. 4d.” and “1s. 1d.” respectively.

Price Order No. 686 (Amending Price Order No. 672) (Sugar)

PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939,* the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order:—

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 686, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 672† (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).

  2. This Order shall come into force on the 1st day of May, 1947.

  3. The principal Order is hereby amended as follows:—

(a) By omitting from subclause (1) of clause 2 the definition of the term “Manufacturer” and substituting the following definition:—

“‘Manufacturer’ means any person who, under the authority of a license or permit endorsed with the words ‘full price’ from the Rationing Controller, purchases sugar for use in manufacturing processes from the company under contract from a distributor or from a retail storekeeper”:

(b) By inserting in subclause (2) of clause 3 after the word “drums” the words “or kegs”:

(c) By inserting in subclause (1) of clause 5 after the word “clause,” the words “and of subclause 5 of the next succeeding clause,”:

(d) By adding to clause 6 the following subclause:—

“(5) Where sugar is sold by a retail storekeeper to a manufacturer the price shall be increased by an amount calculated at the rate of £20 14s. per ton: Provided that when sugar so sold to a manufacturer is replaced by the retail storekeeper the price paid by the retail storekeeper to a distributor shall be increased by an amount calculated at the rate of £20 14s. per ton”:

(e) By adding to paragraph (a) of subclause (1) of clause 9 the words “For kegs (1¼ cwt.) used in respect of invert sugar: By £1 10s. per keg”:

(f) By inserting in subclause (2) of clause 9 after the word “drums” wherever it appears the words “or kegs”:

(g) By adding after the word “drums” where it appears in the First and Second Schedules the words “or kegs”:

(h) By omitting from the Second Schedule the figures “£49 13s. 2d.” and “£48 4s. 5d.” with reference to 70 lb. bags of raw sugar, the figures “£48 13s. 2d.” and “£47 4s. 5d.” with reference to sacks of raw sugar, the figures “£48 1s. 11d.” and “£46 13s. 0d.” with reference to 70 lb. bags of boil out sugar, and the figures “£47 1s. 11d.” and “£45 13s. 0d.” with reference to sacks of boil out sugar, and substituting the figures “£50 18s. 3d.” and “£49 9s. 6d.”, the figures “£49 18s. 3d.” and “£48 9s. 6d.”, the figures “£49 7s. 0d.” and “£47 18s. 1d.”, and the figures “£48 7s. 0d.” and “£46 18s. 1d.” respectively.

(i) By inserting in the Fourth Schedule after the word “storekeeper” the words “(subject to the provisions of clause 6).”

Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit

A. L. Miles and J. Jenner, 226A Queen Street, Onehunga, have applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed inside garage premises at 226A Queen Street, Onehunga.

W. V. Englebretsen, Motuhora, has applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on store premises at Motuhora.

William Huse, Haywards, has applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from a service station proposed to be erected at the junction of the Pahautanui–Haywards Road with the Western Hutt Road.

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than the 15th May, 1947, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender. All communications should be addressed to the Acting-Secretary, Bureau of Industry, C.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.
