COUNTY OF STRATFORD

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Acts amending the same respectively.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Stratford County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, reconstruction of approximately forty chains of the Stratford-Kaponga Highway—which work involves deviation through private properties, and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken.

And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk to the said Council situate Broadway South, Stratford, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing, and send the same within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk at the Council Chambers.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of land required to be taken: 1 acre 0 roods 1.66 perches.
Being portion of Section No. 21, Block IV, Kaupokonui Survey District; coloured red on plan.
Situate in the County of Stratford.

Estimated time and cost of construction: Seven days.
Mean depth and breadth: 18 in. by 1 ft.
Number of heads to be carried: 1 1/4 heads.
Purpose for which water is to be used: Irrigation and domestic.
Proposed term of license: Twenty-one years.

NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 241 of the Companies Act, 1933, that a general meeting of the members of the above-named company will be held in Messrs. Thompson and Lang's Board Room, A.M.P. Chambers, Princes Street, Dunedin, at 4.30 p.m. on Wednesday, the 14th day of May, 1947, for the purpose of having an account laid before the meeting showing how the winding-up of the company has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanations thereof which may be given by the Liquidator; and to consider and, if thought fit, to pass the following as an extraordinary resolution:—

"That the books, papers, and documents of the company remain in the possession of the liquidator, to be destroyed at the expiration of twelve months."

WAIKATO COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Waikato County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £20,000, authorized to be raised by the Waikato County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of erecting workers' dwellings and purchasing land in connection therewith, and for such other purposes as are permitted by sections 192 and 193 of the Counties Act, 1920, the said Waikato County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of thirteen two-hundred-and-fiftieths of a penny (13/250d.) in the pound upon the rateable value on the basis of the capital value of all rateable property in the County of Waikato; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 14th day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years or until the loan is fully paid off."

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was passed at a meeting of the Waikato County Council held on the 15th day of April, 1947.
