Notifying the proposed Exchange of Crown Land in the Taranaki Land District for other Land
B. C. FREYBERG, Governor-General
WHEREAS by section one hundred and sixty of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor-General, whenever he deems it expedient in the public interest, to grant in fee-simple any area of Crown land which is subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, in exchange for the fee-simple of any other land, and on any such exchange to pay or receive any sum by way of equality of exchange:
And whereas in the opinion of the Governor-General it is expedient to exchange the Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto for the land described in the Second Schedule hereto, and the owner of the land described in the Second Schedule has agreed to such exchange:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid powers and authorities, doth hereby declare it is his intention to grant in fee-simple the area of Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto in exchange for the fee-simple of the land described in the Second Schedule.
FIRST SCHEDULE
DESCRIPTION OF LAND AUTHORIZED TO BE EXCHANGED
Taranaki Land District
SECTION 23, Block II, Aria Survey District: Area, 8 acres, more or less. (N.L. 442.)
SECOND SCHEDULE
DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE, THEREFOR
Taranaki Land District
ALL that area containing by admeasurement 7 acres and 36 perches, more or less, being part Aorangi B 3D 2B 1 Block, and part Aorangi B 3D 2C Block, situated in Block II, Aria Survey District (S.O. 8255). As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/3279A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 19th day of April, 1947.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and section forty of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1945, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the undermentioned land is available for disposal as a site for commercial or industrial purposes.
SCHEDULE
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—BOROUGH OF PETONE
ALL those areas containing together 1 acre 2 roods 20·55 perches, more or less, being part of Section 2, Hutt District, being also Lots 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10, and Drainage Reserve adjoining Lots 7 and 8 on Deposited Plan No. 10134, and being part of the land comprised in Certificate of Title, Volume 488, folio 252 (Wellington Registry).
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 19th day of April, 1947.

Arrangements for taking Poll respecting Proposed Borough of Kaikohe

PURSUANT to the powers vested in me in that behalf by section one hundred and thirty-five of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby direct that a poll shall be taken on the proposal that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be constituted a borough under the said Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, by name the Borough of Kaikohe; and, further, I do hereby make the following appointments and arrangements for the purpose of taking the said poll:—

Kenneth William Harold, Esquire, of Kaikohe, to be the Returning Officer for the purpose of taking the said poll, and also to be the person authorized to prepare a voters' roll of the persons entitled to vote at the said poll.

The voters' roll prepared and signed by the said Kenneth William Harold shall be the voters' roll to be used at the said poll.

The said poll shall be taken on Wednesday, the eighteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven, and shall close at seven o'clock in the afternoon of that day.

Except as herein provided, the poll shall be taken as nearly as may be in the manner provided by the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1925, and the Returning Officer hereby appointed shall be deemed to be a Returning Officer appointed for the purpose of that Act.

AREA PROPOSED TO BE CONSTITUTED AS THE BOROUGH OF KAIKOHE
ALL that area of approximately 1,342 acres in the North Auckland Land District, situated in Block XV, Omapere Survey District, and being the whole of the Kaikohe Town District, and an adjoining portion of the County of Bay of Islands, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the right bank of the Mangamutu Stream, being the north-eastern corner of Taraire No. 1B 1C 2 Block, and running easterly generally down the right bank of the said Mangamutu Stream to the south-western boundary of part Taraire No. 2A 2 Block; thence along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of the said No. 2A 2 Block, the south-eastern boundary of part Taraire No. 2G 3 Block, a right line across a public road, to and along another part of the south-eastern boundary of the aforesaid No. 2G 3 Block, and the south-eastern boundary of Taraire No. 2G 2 Block, to the right bank of the Wairoro River; thence southerly generally down the right bank of the aforesaid Wairoro River to the northern boundary of Kohewhata No. 6A Block; thence westerly generally along the northern and western boundaries of the said No. 6A Block to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Kohewhata No. 47 Block; thence along a right line across the Mangakahia Road, to and along a part of the said south-eastern boundary, a right line across the North Auckland Main Trunk Railway, to and along another part of the south-eastern boundary of the aforesaid No. 47 Block for distances of 611·4, 50, and 37·5 links; thence along right lines intersecting the last-mentioned block, bearing 274° 35′ distant 402·5 links, and bearing 207° 52′ distant 912·3 links; thence along a right line, to and along the northern boundary of part Kohewhata No. 69 Block, along a right line across part Kohewhata No. 65C Block, to and along the northern boundaries of Rangihamaha C and I Blocks, and a right line being the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Waikaka Stream; thence up the middle of the said Waikaka Stream to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Tuhuna No. 16 Block; thence along a right line to and along the said north-western boundary, and along the north-eastern boundary of Tuhuna No. 15 Block to the Taheke Road; thence along a right line across the said road, to and along the northern boundary of Tuhuna No. 6B Block, along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Waikotihe Block, the northern boundaries of part Tuhuna No. 7C 2 Block, Tuhuna No. 7D 1 Block, and another part Tuhuna No. 7C 2 Block to the eastern boundary of Tuhuna No. 6F Block; thence northerly generally along the said eastern boundary, the eastern boundary of Tuhuna No. 6A 2 Block, crossing the intervening North Auckland Main Trunk Railway, and along the northern boundary of Tuhuna No. 2 Block, the eastern boundary of Taraire No. 103 Block, the south-eastern boundaries of parts Taraire No. 1C and 1T Blocks, and the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of another part Taraire No. 1T Block to a public road; thence easterly along the southern side of the said public road to the northern corner of Taraire No. 1X 1B 2 Block; thence northerly along a right line, across the said public road, to and along the eastern boundary of Taraire No. 1D 2C Block, and a right line being the said eastern boundary produced to a public road; thence south-easterly along the south-western side of that road to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Taraire No. 1D 1B 6; thence north-easterly and northerly along a right line, across the said public road, to and along the said south-eastern boundary and the south-western and eastern boundaries of Taraire No. 1B 1C 2 Block, to the point of commencement: be the aforesaid measurements more or less.
