Pursuant to the Harbours Act, 1923, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby license and permit the Te Aroha - Thames Valley Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, of Te Aroha (hereinafter called the company, which term shall include its successors or assigns unless the context requires a different construction), to use and occupy a part of the foreshore and land below low-water mark at Te Aroha in the Waihou River, as shown on plan marked M.D. 7126 and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington, for the purpose of erecting and maintaining a shipping jetty thereon, as shown on the said plan, such license to be held and enjoyed by the company upon and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
CONDITIONS

This license is subject to the Foreshore License Regulations 1940, and the provisions of those regulations shall, so far as applicable, apply hereto.

The premium payable by the company shall be two pounds ten shillings (£2 10s.), and the annual sum so payable by the company shall be two pounds ten shillings (£2 10s.).

The term of the license shall be fourteen (14) years from the 1st day of April, 1947.

The master of all vessels discharging ballast at the said shipping jetty shall have all such ballast taken away and deposited above high-water mark, or such place as may be approved by the Minister or by any person appointed by the Minister for that purpose.

Notifying the Proposed Exchange of Crown Land in the Auckland Land District for other Land

WHEREAS by section one hundred and sixty of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor-General, whenever he deems it expedient in the public interest, to grant in fee-simple any area of Crown land which is subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, in exchange for the fee-simple of any other land, and on any such exchange to pay or receive any sum by way of equality of exchange:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is expedient to exchange the Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto for the land described in the Second Schedule hereto, and the owner of the land described in the Second Schedule has agreed to such exchange:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid powers and authorities, doth hereby declare it is his intention to grant in fee-simple the area of Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto in exchange for the fee-simple of the land described in the Second Schedule.
FIRST SCHEDULE
DESCRIPTION OF LAND AUTHORIZED TO BE EXCHANGED
Auckland Land District
Allotment 275, Matata Parish: Area, 2 acres and 15 perches, more or less.
SECOND SCHEDULE
DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE THEREFOR
Auckland Land District
All that area containing by admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood 37 perches, more or less, being part Lot 1, D.P. 16130, being part of Allotment 146, Matata Parish, and being part of the land comprised in Certificate of Title, Volume 391, folio 146 (Auckland Registry). As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/2106m, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow. (Auckland plans S.O. 30366 and 33272.)
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 3rd day of April, 1947.

Land temporarily reserved in the Marlborough Land District

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve the land in the Marlborough Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written for river-protection purposes.
SCHEDULE
MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT
All that area situated in the County of Marlborough, containing 900 acres, more or less, being portion of the original bed of the Wairau and Waihopai Rivers, situated in Block IX, Cloudy Bay Survey District, and Blocks XII, XV, and XVI, Onamalutu Survey District, bounded as follows: Commencing at the Wairau Bridge in Block IX, Cloudy Bay Survey District; thence north-westerly by that bridge to the middle-line of the Wairau River; thence in a south-westerly direction by the middle-line of the Wairau River to its junction with the middle-line of the Waihopai River; thence south-easterly by the middle-line of the Waihopai River to a point opposite the south boundary of the road adjoining Section 12, Block XVI, Onamalutu Survey District; thence easterly by a right line to the said road; thence northerly and north-easterly generally by the said road and the river-bank reserve fronting the aforesaid Section 12, the river-bank road abutting Section 1, Block XVI, Onamalutu Survey District, Section 172, Omaka Registration District, Section 9A, Block XII, Onamalutu Survey District, and Sections 5 and 4, Block IX, Cloudy Bay Survey District, to the Wairau Bridge, the point of commencement. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/3200r, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Lieutenant-Colonel (temp. Colonel) W. H. B. Bull, O.B.E., E.D., M.B., Ch.B., F.R.C.S. (Edin.), is appointed Director-General of Medical Services (Army and Air) on a part-time basis, and is granted the temporary rank of Brigadier. Dated 1st April, 1947.
Temp. Captain G. E. Cox, M.B.E., F.B.O.A. (Hons.), from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be temp. Captain, with seniority from 10th November, 1943, and is appointed Officer in Charge, Optician Service (Army, Navy, and Air), on a part-time basis. Dated 1st April, 1947.
