Notifying the Proposed Exchange of Crown Land in the Auckland Land District for other Lands
B. C. FREYBERG, Governor-General
WHEREAS by section one hundred and sixty of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor-General, whenever he deems it expedient in the public interest, to grant in fee-simple any area of Crown land which is subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, in exchange for the fee-simple of any other land, and on any such exchange to pay or receive any sum by way of equality of exchange:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is expedient to exchange the Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto for the lands described in the Second Schedule hereto, and the owner of the lands described in the Second Schedule has agreed to such exchange:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid powers and authorities, doth hereby declare it is his intention to grant in fee-simple the area of Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto in exchange for the fee-simple of the lands described in the Second Schedule.

DESCRIPTION OF LAND AUTHORIZED TO BE EXCHANGED
Auckland Land District
ALLOTMENT 276, Matata Parish: Area, 3 roods 19 perches, more or less.
SECOND SCHEDULE
DESCRIPTION OF LANDS TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE THEREFOR
Auckland Land District
ALL that area containing by admeasurement 1 acre and 35 perches, more or less, being part of Lot 3, D.P. 16130, being portion of Allotment 146, Matata Parish, and being part of the land comprised in Certificate of Title, Volume 379, folio 101 (Auckland Registry).
Also all that area containing by admeasurement 26 perches, more or less, being part of Lot 3, D.P. 16130, being portion of Allotment 146, Matata Parish, and being part of the land comprised in Certificate of Title, Volume 379, folio 101 (Auckland Registry).
As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/2106L, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow. (Auckland plans S.O. 30366 and 33272.)
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 20th day of March, 1947.

Extending Period within which the Commission appointed to Inquire into and Report on Claims preferred by Members of the Maori Race touching certain Lands known as Surplus Lands of the Crown shall report

To Our Trusty and Well-beloved Counsellor Sir Michael Myers, Knight Grand Cross of Our Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Hanara Tangiawha Reedy, of Ruatoria, Farmer, and Albert Moeller Samuel, of Auckland, Retired: GREETING.
WHEREAS by Our Warrant of date the fifth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and forty-six, issued under the authority of the Letters Patent of His late Majesty dated the eleventh day of May, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, and under the authority of and subject to the provisions of the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1908, and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, you, the said
Sir Michael Myers,
Hanara Tangiawha Reedy, and
Albert Moeller Samuel
were appointed to be a Commission to inquire into and report upon certain claims preferred by members of the Maori race touching certain lands known as Surplus Lands of the Crown as set forth in the said Warrant:
And whereas by Our said Warrant you were required to report not later than the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven, your findings and opinions on the matters thereby referred to you:
And whereas it is expedient that the time for so reporting should be extended as hereinafter provided:
Now, therefore, We do hereby extend until the thirty-first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven, the time within which you are so required to report:
And We do hereby confirm the said Warrant and Commission save as modified by these presents.
In witness whereof We have caused these presents to be issued and the Seal of Our Dominion of New Zealand to be hereunto affixed at Wellington, this nineteenth day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven, and in the eleventh year of Our Reign.
Witness Our Trusty and Well-beloved Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, on whom has been conferred the Victoria Cross, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Companion of the Distinguished Service Order, Lieutenant-General in His Majesty's Army, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over Our Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion.
