Result of Poll for Proposed Loan

THE following notice, received by the Minister of Finance from the Chairman of the Blue Mountain Rabbit Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1908.

BLUE MOUNTAIN RABBIT BOARD
I, WALTER LOWDEN OSWALD, Chairman of the Blue Mountain Rabbit Board, hereby certify that the Board has received a notice in writing, signed by a majority in number of the ratepayers liable to be rated who possess in their own right a majority of the votes exercisable at a poll by all ratepayers, consenting to the raising of a loan of £1,100 for the purpose of meeting in part the expenditure incurred in purchasing certain land and erecting thereon a dwellinghouse and effecting improvements on the said land and declaring their desire to dispense with the formality of a poll thereon.
And I further certify that a formal poll has been dispensed with in accordance with the request of the ratepayers signing the said request, and that the total number of ratepayers who have signed the above-mentioned request is 11 and the total number of votes exercisable by them is 34, and the total number of ratepayers who will be rated for the proposed loan is 20 and the total number of votes exercisable by them is 58.
I therefore declare the proposal to raise the said loan to be carried.

Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936
Manufacture for Sale of Footwear
Willow Products Co., 31 Moxham Avenue, Hataitai, Wellington, has applied for a license to manufacture men’s leather slippers, sizes 5–11, and women’s leather slippers, sizes 2–7, also women’s open-type sandals, sizes 2–7, by the cemented (Latex) and Blake sewn processes.
Pharmacy Industry
A. A. Aris, 153 Lichfield Street, Christchurch, has applied for a license to operate a new pharmacy at 397A Main South Road, Hornby.
J. W. Pearson, 18 Chapman Street, St. Kilda, Dunedin, has applied for a license to operate a new pharmacy at Tahuna, Nelson.
Manufacture of Paua (Haliotis iris) Shell for Sale
The following person has applied for a license to engage in the industry described in the Industry Licensing (Paua Shell) Notice 1946 :—

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit
George Dale and Son, Ltd., Beach Road, Auckland, has applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from one pump installed on garage premises, Beach Road, Auckland.
J. B. Burrell, Ngahere, has applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on store premises at Ngahere.
J. R. Hatton, Wood Street, Temuka, has applied for permission to change the site of his retail selling point from the present location in Wood Street to a new site at the opposite end of the same street.
Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than the 27th day of March, 1947, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender. CROWN LANDS NOTICE
Land in Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease
Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 11th March, 1947.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o’clock a.m. on Monday, 28th April, 1947.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Tuesday, 29th April, 1947, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands. Applicants are required to produce documentary evidence of their financial position and farming experience.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant will be required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and an amount in reduction of weighting for improvements.
SCHEDULE
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND
Taumarunui County.—Ongarue Survey District
THE northern portions of Sections 11 and 12, and Lot 1 of Section 5, Block X: Area, 604 acres 1 rood 12 perches. Capital value, £200; half-yearly rent, £4.
Weighted with £1,800 for improvements, comprising four-roomed dwelling, three sheds, whare, wool-shed, garage, all in fair condition, fencing, grassing, dip, and two lots of yards. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £300, the balance may be paid over twenty years by half-yearly instalment, principal and interest of £58 17s. 6d. The interest portion of each instalment is subject to a rebate of one-tenth if paid within one month of due date and providing that there are no arrears.
This property, which was previously known as Nilson’s Block, is situated on Kokomiko Road, six miles from Waimiha. The country is steep and broken, with outcrops of rhyolite. 305 acres are surface sown and in poor state, 154 acres are reverted to fern and scrub, and 145 acres are covered with light bush. The land is poorly watered and electricity is not available. The property is not considered an economic unit, but is suitable for an established farmer in the district.
