HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to
approve the following appointments, promotions, relinquish-
ment, and transfers of officers of the Royal New Zealand Air Force :—

GENERAL DUTIES BRANCH
Appointments

As Pilots—
NZ 2508 Flight Lieutenant Herbert Douglas NEWMAN, on
relinquishing his commission in the Reserve of Air Force Officers
(United Kingdom), is granted a temporary commission in the rank
of Flight Lieutenant, with seniority as from 13th April, 1942. Dated
1st June, 1946.

NZ 42487 Flight Lieutenant Philip James WARNES relinquishes
his temporary commission and is granted a short-service commission
in the temporary rank of Flight Lieutenant with present seniority.
Dated 1st April, 1947.

Transfer

NZ 1009 Group Captain Michael Sullivan KEOGH, O.B.E., A.M.,
is transferred from the Reserve of Air Force Officers to the Active
List in his present rank and seniority. Dated 15th June, 1944.

Relinquishment

NZ 2500 Squadron Leader John Albert Axel GIBSON, D.S.O.,
D.F.C., is permitted to relinquish his temporary commission. Dated
24th December, 1946.

ADMINISTRATIVE AND SPECIAL DUTIES BRANCH
Promotions

NZ 1930 Flight Lieutenant (Acting Squadron Leader) Francis
Roy MCBRIDE to be Squadron Leader (temp.). Dated 22nd Decem-
ber, 1945.

NZ 1787 Flying Officer (Acting Flight Lieutenant) Hugh West-
ropp BRADY to be Flight Lieutenant (temp.). Dated 23rd August,
1946.

NEW ZEALAND WOMEN’S AUXILIARY AIR FORCE
Appointment

W 6054 Dorothy Lois HERVEY is granted a temporary com-
mission in the rank of Section Officer, with seniority as from 14th
July, 1946. Dated 13th February, 1947.

Amendments

The notice appearing in the New Zealand Gazette No. 32, dated
16th May, 1946, page 681, under the heading “Reserve of Air
Force Officers—Transfers,” is amended, so far as it relates to “Flying
Officer John Gerald BIRCH,” to read “Dated 4th May, 1946.”

The notice appearing in the New Zealand Gazette No. 64, dated
12th September, 1946, page 1243, under the heading “Reserve
of Air Force Officers—Transfers,” relating to “Flight Lieutenant
Percy Francis CARTER,” is amended to read “Dated 5th October,
1946.”

Cancellations

The notice appearing in the New Zealand Gazette No. 74, dated
29th November, 1945, page 1488, under the heading “Reserve of
Air Force Officers—Transfers,” and the subsequent amendment
appearing in New Zealand Gazette No. 28, dated 2nd May, 1946,
page 542, relating to “Flight Lieutenant Francis Roy MCBRIDE,”
are hereby cancelled.

The notice appearing in the New Zealand Gazette No. 66, dated
26th September, 1946, page 1296, under the heading “Reserve of
Air Force Officers—Transfers,” relating to “Flying Officer Hugh
Westropp BRADY,” is cancelled.

to be members of the Maori Purposes Fund Board.

Waterfront Industry Emergency Regulations 1946.—Appointment of
Lyttelton Port Committee

PURSUANT to the Waterfront Industry Emergency Regulations
1946, the Minister of Labour doth hereby appoint the
following persons to be the Port Committee for the Port of
Lyttelton for a term expiring on the 30th day of April, 1947 :—
Charles Christopher Vandcn Bergh, Chairman; and
Gilbert Hawley, Philip Earle Ryan, and Dudley Scabrook
Broughton (nominated by the New Zealand Waterside
Employers’ Association Industrial Association of Em-
ployers); and
John Flood, Tobias McGlinchy, and James Richard Whitford
(nominated by the New Zealand Waterside Workers’
