Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers in that behalf vested in me by the said Act, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby declared to be a private burial-ground subject to the provisions of the said Act, to be called and known by the name of “The Waiorongomai Private Burial-ground.”

And I do further notify and declare that Raymond Wilfrid Matthews, Sheep-farmer, of Waiorongomai, near Featherston, and his descendants and the present existing or future relations or connections of the said Raymond Wilfrid Matthews shall be the only class of persons who may now or hereafter be buried in the said “Waiorongomai Private Burial-ground.”

SCHEDULE

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, situated in Block II, Onoke Survey District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood and 38 perches, more or less, being part of Section 19, Western Lake District; bounded, towards the north and east by Lot 1 on plan number 8925 deposited in the Land Registry Office at Wellington, being part of the aforesaid Section 19, 362·5 links and 128 links respectively; towards the south by other part of the aforesaid Section 19, 400·05 links; and towards the west by the Western Lake Road, 133·6 links; be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked 191/3/42, deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Health at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Trustees for Flaxbourne Cemetery appointed

PURSUANT to section fifty-five of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the

Awatere County Council

to be the trustees of the cemetery within the meaning of the said Act known as the Flaxbourne Cemetery, being the land described in the Schedule hereto, and to have the control and management thereof.

FLAXBOURNE CEMETERY

ALL that area in the Marlborough Land District, containing by admeasurement two acres (2 acres) more or less, being Section 21, Block VI, Cape Campbell Survey District (Marlborough S.O. plan 724).

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 28th day of November, 1946.

Land temporarily reserved in the Otago Land District

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve the land in the Otago Land District, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for municipal purposes.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area situated in the Borough of Arrowtown (Otago R.D.), containing by admeasurement 1 acre and 28·64 perches, more or less, being Sections 1, 2, 9, 10, and 11, Block III, Town of Arrowtown. (S.O. plan 9444.)

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 28th day of November, 1946.

Notifying the proposed Exchange of Crown Land in the Auckland Land District for other Land

———

WHEREAS by section one hundred and sixty of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor-General, whenever he deems it expedient in the public interest, to grant in fee-simple any area of Crown land which is subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, in exchange for the fee-simple of any other land, and on any such exchange to pay or receive any sum by way of equality of exchange:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is expedient to exchange the Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto for the land described in the Second Schedule hereto, and the owner of the land described in the Second Schedule has agreed to such exchange:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid powers and authorities, doth hereby declare it his intention to grant in fee-simple the area of Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto in exchange for the fee-simple of the land described in the Second Schedule.
