PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and section forty of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1945, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the undermentioned land is available for disposal as a site for commercial or industrial purposes.

Arrangements for taking Poll respecting Proposed Borough of Helensville

B. C. FREYBERG, Governor-General

PURSUANT to the powers vested in me in that behalf by section one hundred and thirty-five of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby direct that a poll shall be taken on the proposal that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be constituted a borough under the said Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, by name the Borough of Helensville; and, further, I do hereby make the following appointments and arrangements for the purpose of taking the said poll:—

  1. James Ferguson Lambert, Esquire, of Helensville, to be the person authorized to prepare a voters roll of the persons entitled to vote at the said poll.

  2. The voters roll prepared and signed by the said James Ferguson Lambert shall be the voters roll to be used at the said poll.

  3. Thomas Owen Robinson, Esquire, of Helensville, to be the Returning Officer for the purpose of taking the said poll.

  4. The said poll shall be taken on Wednesday, the eleventh day of December, one thousand nine hundred and forty-six, and shall close at seven o'clock in the afternoon of that day.

  5. Except as herein provided, the poll shall be taken as nearly as may be in the manner provided by the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1925, and the Returning Officer hereby appointed shall be deemed to be a Returning Officer appointed for the purpose of that Act.

AREA PROPOSED TO BE CONSTITUTED AS THE BOROUGH OF HELENSVILLE

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, situated in Block XIV, Kaipara Survey District, of approximately 1,315 acres: Bounded by a line commencing at a point on the right bank of the Kaipara River and being the southern corner of Tungotungou Block, and running north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of that block and crossing the North Auckland Main Trunk Railway and the Helensville-Waiwera Main Highway to the western boundary of Allotment S.E. 76, Ararimu Parish; thence south-easterly generally along the south-western boundary of the said Allotment S.E. 76, to and along the south-western side of the public road forming the south-western boundaries of Allotments 80 and 82 of the said parish, to and along the south-western boundaries of Allotments 90 and 89 of Ararimu Parish aforesaid to the northern side of a public road; thence generally westerly along the generally northern side of the aforementioned road and Rautawhiri Road, which form the southern boundaries generally of part Rautawhiri No. 3 Block, as shown on the plan numbered 24370, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, parts Rautawhiri Nos. 1 and 3 Blocks, as comprised and described in certificates of title, Vol. 367, folio 291, and Vol. 548, folio 251 (Auckland Land Registry), to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Pukekorari Block; thence along a right line across Rautawhiri Road aforesaid, to and along the said north-western boundary and the north-western boundary of Lot 1, as shown on the plan numbered 26172, deposited as aforesaid, and being part Pukekorari Block, a right line across Garfield Street, to and along the northern boundaries of Lots 17 and 16, the abutment of a public road, and the northern boundaries of Lots 15, 13, 12, 11, 10, and 8, the aforesaid lots being shown on Deeds Plan numbered C. 105, lodged in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, and being part Te Makiri Block, a right line across Makiri Street, to and long its northern side, being the southern boundary of part Ngatapahari-Tuarua Block, as comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 585, folio 290, to and along the northern boundary of part Te Makiri Block, as comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 752, folio 301, a right line across the North Auckland Main Trunk Railway, to and along the northern boundary of Lot 1, as shown on the plan numbered 23425, deposited as aforesaid, and being part of Te Makiri Block, to the Kaipara River; thence along the right bank of the Kaipara River aforesaid to the point of commencement.
