Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936

Manufacture for Sale of Footwear

T. E. O’Brien, 287 New North Road, Auckland, has applied for a license to manufacture wedge sandals and children’s sandals by the hand-clicking, machined, and riveted processes.

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit

R. Beach, Havelock, has applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises at Lucknow Street, Havelock.

A. S. Duthie, Cromwell, has applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from four pumps to be installed on proposed garage and service-station premises at the corner of Melmore and Murray Streets, Cromwell.

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than the 24th day of October, 1946, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender. All communications should be addressed to the Secretary, Bureau of Industry, C.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.

War Assets Realization Board.—Surplus Assets for Sale

TENDERS are invited for :—

(723) CORKS, FOR FISHING-NETS. 3½ in. and 4 in. New. Held at Devonport.

(724) OARS. New. 10 ft. to 17 ft. Quantity, 332. Held at Auckland.

(725) CANVAS. Various grades. Held at Wellington.

(726) RAFTS AND FLOATS. Used. Held at Auckland. 6 rafts slatted type of pitch pine or Oregon, three sizes; 48 floats elliptical, Balsa wood, oval tubing, three sizes.

(727) AIR-SEA RESCUE EQUIPMENT. Two-, four-, and seven-man rafts, life, rubberized canvas and rubber, aluminium oars. Sails 54 in. square. Held at Te Rapa.

(728) SODA FOUNTAIN AND FITTINGS. In used condition. At Wellington. Comprising 1 soda-water carbonator with ½ h.p. motor; 1 “McAlpine” condenser unit with ⅓ h.p. motor; 1 Temprite; 1 soda arm complete with fittings and piping.

(729) PUMICE STONE. New. 11,819 lb. in sacks. Held in Wellington.

(730) CHAR GAS-PRODUCERS (Waicarba). Held in North and South Islands.

(731) STRAWBOARD, CORRUGATED. New. Cut as follows: 9½ in. by 5 in., 711 lb.; 8½ in. by 5 in., 229 lb.

Tenders close with the Board’s Secretary, Defence Services Building, Bunny Street, Wellington (postal address, Private Bag, Lambton Quay Post-office, Wellington), to whom they should be addressed in envelopes marked “Tender No. . . . . . . . for . . . . . . . ,” at noon on Monday, 21st October, 1946. Further particulars and conditions of sale are obtainable from the Board’s offices in Wellington and from the Board’s District Offices at Dilworth Building, Queen Street, Auckland, and Old Art Gallery Building, Durham Street, Christchurch; and also from the District Storekeeper’s Office, Public Works Department, Dunedin.

Price Order No. 613 (Amending Price Order No. 506) (Milk—Hutt Valley and Bays Metropolitan Milk District)

PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939,* the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order :—

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 613, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 506† (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).

  2. This Order shall come into force on the 14th day of October, 1946.

  3. The principal Order is hereby amended by revoking the Schedule thereto and substituting the following Schedule :—
