Cancelling the Vesting of Part of a Reserve in the Raglan County Council

At the Government House at Wellington, this 2nd day of October, 1946

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is part of a reserve for a site for a roadman’s cottage, and is vested in the Raglan County Council:

And whereas it is expedient that the vesting of the said land as hereinbefore referred to should be cancelled, and the Raglan County Council has duly consented to such cancellation:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection one of section ten of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby cancel the vesting in the Raglan County Council of the land described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area in the County of Raglan, containing by admeasurement 3 acres, more or less, being part Section 8, Block X, Rangiriri Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 2/102, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (S.O. plan 33090.)

Vesting the Control of a Reserve in the Colyton Public Hall Board

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 2nd day of October, 1946

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto was, by subsection one of section thirty-five of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 1925, permanently reserved as a site for a public hall: And whereas it is expedient that the control of the said reserve should be vested in a special Board as hereinafter provided:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section seventeen of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby vest the control of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto for a period of five years from the date hereof (unless previously amended or revoked under the said Act), in the undermentioned persons, namely,—

Arthur Philip Leishman Langdon,
William Edwin Parker,
William Power,
William Wishart Shortall, and
Charles Hubert Wilson

who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the name of the Colyton Public Hall Board (hereinafter referred to as the Board), with the powers and subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say :—

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the third Monday in each month at 8 o’clock p.m. at the Colyton Public Hall, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Monday, the twenty-first day of October, one thousand nine hundred and forty-six.

  2. The members of the Board shall at their first meeting, and thereafter at the annual meeting hereinafter mentioned, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

  3. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, provided that two days’ notice of any such meeting is given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

  4. Any three members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose one of their number to be Chairman of such meeting.

  6. If by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise the seat of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents himself without reasonable cause from three consecutive meetings of the Board, the Governor-General shall have power to appoint any other person to be a member of the Board in his stead.

  7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of members of the Board present at the meeting.

  8. The Board shall have prepared and submitted at an annual meeting to be held in the month of April in each year a report of the proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report and statement, certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall be sent to the Minister of Lands as soon as possible after each annual meeting.

  9. The Board shall control the said reserve and the building erected thereon for the purposes of a public hall, and shall also afford settlers and residents of Colyton and the surrounding district such facilities for meeting within the said hall as may from time to time be determined by the Board; provided that the Board shall have power to fix reasonable charges for the use of the said hall.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood, more or less, being part Subdivision H, Manchester Block, and being all the land comprised in Certificate of Title, Volume 56, folio 129 (Wellington Registry).

Revoking the Reservation over Part of a Reserve in Rangiriri Survey District, Auckland Land District

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection one (b) of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the reservation for a site for a roadman’s cottage over the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby declare that the said land, being vested in the Crown, is Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act, 1924.

Directing Application of Moneys received in respect of Portion of the Ormond Domain, Gisborne Land District, for the Purposes of the Waihirere and Gray’s Bush Domain

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by section sixty-one of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby direct that from the moneys received in respect of that portion of the Ormond Domain, described in the First Schedule hereto, and at the date hereof lying to the credit of the said domain, a sum not exceeding three hundred pounds shall be applied in managing, administering, and improving the Waihirere and Gray’s Bush Domain described in the Second Schedule hereto.

GISBORNE LAND DISTRICT.—PORTION OF ORMOND DOMAIN

ALL that area in Block I, Waimata Survey District, containing by admeasurement 107 acres 1 rood 5 perches, more or less, being the section marked “Bush Reserve,” and being the land referred to in the Order in Council dated 1st August, 1910, and published in Gazette No. 75 of the 4th of that month, at page 3115.
