Revoking the setting apart of Crown Land in Otago Land District for Selection by Discharged Soldiers, under Special Tenures

A PROCLAMATION
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section three of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Amendment Act, 1919, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke the Proclamation made on the twenty-sixth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and published in the Gazette of the first day of June, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, page 1829, setting apart the land described in the Schedule hereto for disposal by way of sale or lease to discharged soldiers under special tenures in the manner provided by the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915.
SCHEDULE
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—CROWN LAND
SECTION 20, Block XIV, Rimu Survey District: Area, 206 acres 3 roods.

Declaring that the Police-gaol at Ashburton shall cease to be a Police-gaol

A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled the Prisons Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor-General may, by Proclamation in the New Zealand Gazette, declare that any prison or police-gaol shall no longer be a prison or police-gaol; and upon the gazetting of such Proclamation, or from and after any later date fixed in such Proclamation for the purpose, such prison or police-gaol shall cease to be a prison or police-gaol:
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the above-recited power and authority, do hereby declare that, from and after the gazetting of this Proclamation, the police-gaol at Ashburton, in the Land District of Canterbury, shall cease to be a police-gaol.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 5th day of October, 1946.

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 2nd day of October, 1946

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS by section thirty-three of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), it is enacted that the boundaries of two or more contiguous rabbit districts may from time to time be altered by the Governor-General in Council in accordance with a resolution proposing the alteration passed by the Board of each of the districts affected:
And whereas the districts known as the “Peria Rabbit District” and the “Whitehall Rabbit District” (hereinafter referred to as the said districts) have been constituted under and for the purposes of the Part II of the said Act:
And whereas a resolution was passed by the Board of the Whitehall Rabbit District on the eleventh day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty-six, and a similar resolution was passed by the Board of the Peria Rabbit District on the eighteenth day of the same month praying in each case for the alteration of the boundaries of the said districts in the manner described in the said resolutions and in the First Schedule hereto:
And whereas it is deemed expedient to alter and redefine the boundaries of the said districts in accordance with the said resolutions and in the manner hereinafter provided:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby alter and redefine the boundaries of the said districts so constituted as aforesaid, and doth hereby declare—
(1) That the area described in the First Schedule hereto, being now part of the Whitehall Rabbit District, shall be added to and form part of the Peria Rabbit District;
(2) That the boundaries of the Peria Rabbit District shall be those set forth in the Second Schedule hereto;
(3) That the boundaries of the Whitehall Rabbit District shall be those set forth in the Third Schedule hereto; and
(4) That this Order in Council shall take effect on the date of the publication thereof in the Gazette.
FIRST SCHEDULE
AREA EXCLUDED FROM THE WHITEHALL RABBIT DISTRICT AND INCLUDED IN THE PERIA RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area of approximately 900 acres in the Auckland Land District, in the County of Matamata, situated in Blocks IV and VIII, Cambridge Survey District, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the boundary between the Whitehall and Peria Rabbit Districts, being the north-western corner of part Lot 22, as shown on the plan numbered 17891, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, being part Te Tapui B No. 2 Block, and running generally north-easterly and easterly along the boundary between the said rabbit districts, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 16 of the 27th day of February, 1936, page 335, to the Mangapapa River; thence south-westerly up that river to the south-western corner of Section 2, Block VIII, Cambridge Survey District aforesaid; thence northerly generally along the generally western boundary of the said Section 2 to the northern boundary of Block VIII of the said survey district; thence westerly along the said block boundary, to and along the eastern and southern boundaries of Section 7, Block IV, of Cambridge Survey District aforesaid, to the point of commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE PERIA RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area of approximately 25,900 acres in the Auckland Land District, in the counties of Piako and Matamata, bounded by a line commencing at a point in Block XVI, Maungakawa Survey District, being the intersection of the middle of the Piakonui Stream with the middle of the Ngatea-Waharoa Main Highway, and running easterly generally along the middle of that main highway and the middle of Richmond Downs Road to its intersection with the middle of the Mangapapa River; thence southerly up the middle of the said river and the middle of the Tukutahanga Stream to a point in line with the southern boundary of Lot 2, as shown on the plan numbered 10998, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, being parts Puketutu No. 1B No. 3A and No. 1B No. 4B Section 1 Blocks; thence easterly along a right line to and along the southern boundary of Lot 2 aforesaid, to and along the western boundary of Section 150, Matamata Settlement, and its production southerly to the middle of Morgan’s Road; thence south-easterly generally along the middle of Morgan’s Road aforesaid and the middle of the Matai Road to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Lot 2 of Section 114, Matamata Settlement; thence along a right line, to and along the said south-eastern boundary, to and along the south-western boundary of Lot 4 and the western boundary of Lot 5, as shown on the plan numbered 12941, deposited as aforesaid, being parts Section 115, Matamata Settlement, a right line across Station Road, to and along the generally western boundaries of Lot 1, as shown on the plan numbered 20594, deposited as aforesaid, being part Section 116 of the said settlement, and Lot 1, as shown on the plan numbered 12525, deposited as aforesaid, being part Section 118, Matamata Settlement aforesaid, to the north-eastern boundary of Lot 2, as shown on the plan numbered 12602, deposited as aforesaid, being part Section 117 of the said settlement; thence north-westerly along the said north-eastern boundary and a right line, being its production to the middle of Matai Road aforesaid; thence southerly generally along the middle of Matai Road and westerly generally along the middle of Buckland Road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Lot 3, as shown on the plan numbered 16907, deposited as aforesaid, being part Section 137A of the said settlement; thence northerly along a right line, to and along the said eastern boundary and the eastern and northern boundaries of Lot 1, as shown on the plan numbered 16907 aforesaid, being part of the said Section 137A, the northern boundary of Section 137, Matamata Settlement, and a right line, being the production of the last-mentioned boundary, to the middle of the Mangapapa River; thence south-westerly up the middle of the said river to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 2, Block VIII, Cambridge Survey District; thence northerly generally along a right line, to and along the generally western boundary of the said Section 2 to the northern boundary of Block VIII of the said survey district; thence westerly along the said block boundary to and along the eastern and southern boundaries of Section 7, Block IV, Cambridge Survey District aforesaid, to and along the north-western boundary of part Lot 22, as shown on the plan numbered 17891, deposited as aforesaid, being part Te
