WAIREWA COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON LOAN

In the matter of the WAIREWA COUNTY and in the matter of the KINLOCH RIDING ROADING LOAN, 1946, £2,750, and in the matter of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1925.

I HEREBY give notice that on the 21st day of September instant the proposal to raise the sum of £2,750 by the Wairewa County Council, for the purpose of providing the Council's contribution towards the cost of grading, drainage, metalling, and construction of roads in the Kinloch Riding of the said county, was submitted by the Wairewa County Council to the ratepayers of the Kinloch Riding, and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal were as follows:—

For, 45. Against, 27.

And I declare the said proposal to be carried.

BLUFF BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Bluff Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of securing the interest and other charges on a loan of £18,000, authorized to be raised by the Bluff Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for erecting workers’ dwellings, the said Bluff Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of fourpence and five-eighths of a penny (4½d.) in the pound upon the unimproved value of all rateable property of the Borough of Bluff; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of the resolution passed at the meeting of the Bluff Borough Council held on the 24th September, 1946.

CHANGE OF NAME OF COMPANY

NOTICE is hereby given that CALEDONIAN HOTEL, LIMITED, has changed its name to CENTRAL HOTEL, LIMITED, and that the new name has been entered in my Register of Companies in lieu of the former name.

LOWER HUTT CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Water, Sewer, and Surface-drainage Renewal Loan, 1946, £4,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and by all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Lower Hutt City Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of four thousand pounds (£4,000), authorized to be raised by the Lower Hutt City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of redeeming, to the extent that the sinking funds are insufficient, the balance of the Water, Sewer, and Surface-drainage Loan, 1926, £6,000, which matures on the 1st October, 1946, the said Lower Hutt City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 15/8 of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property in the City of Lower Hutt; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable on the 20th day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twelve (12) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

We hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution of the Lower Hutt City Council at a meeting of the Council held on the 23rd day of September, 1946.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of HAWKE'S BAY NEWSPAPERS, LIMITED.

NOTICE is hereby given that an order of the Supreme Court of New Zealand dated the 6th day of September, 1946, confirming the reduction of the capital of the above-named company from £26,000 to £18,500, and the minute approved by the Court showing with respect to the capital of the company as altered the several particulars required by the above-mentioned Act, was registered by the Registrar of Companies on the 19th day of September, 1946. The said minute is in the words and figures following:—

“The capital of Hawke’s Bay Newspapers, Limited, henceforth is £18,500, divided into:—

“6,000 preference shares of £1 each ... ... £6,000
“1,250 ordinary shares of £1 each ... ... 1,250
“18,750 ordinary shares of 12s. each, in lieu of 18,750 ordinary shares of £1 each paid up to 12s. per share ... ... ... ... ... 11,250

“At the time of the registration of this minute all the above-mentioned shares are issued and have been and are to be deemed fully paid up.”
