COOK HOSPITAL BOARD
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
Notice is hereby given that the Cook Hospital Board, acting under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, proposes to execute a certain public work—namely, to take land for a purpose in connection with the Cook Hospital—to wit, the maintenance of a maternity home—and for that purpose the land containing one (1) acre and twenty-one (21) perches, being Lots 2 and 3 on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Gisborne under No. 1509, and being parts of Section 1, Block F, Whataupoko 6, delineated on the public map of Block III, Turanganui Survey District, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 45, folio 64 (Gisborne Registry), is required to be taken.
Notice is further given that a plan of the land so required for such public work is deposited in the office of the Managing-Secretary of the said Cook Hospital Board at Gisborne and at the offices of Messrs. Nolan and Skeet, Solicitors, Childers Road, Gisborne, and is open for inspection by all persons during office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of such public work who have any well-founded objection thereto must deliver the same in writing to the Managing-Secretary of the Cook Hospital Board at Gisborne within forty days of the first publication of this notice.

HASTINGS BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Hastings Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £39,000, authorized to be raised by the Hastings Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of extending and developing Windsor, Nelson, and Akina Parks, including the provision of a new grandstand in Nelson Park, the said Hastings Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of four hundred and eighty-five one-thousandths (485/1000ths) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (upon the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property appearing on the Valuation Roll of the Borough of Hastings, comprising the whole borough; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be due and payable yearly on the 1st day in August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
The foregoing resolution was passed at a meeting of the Hastings Borough Council held on Thursday, the 19th September, 1946.

HAWKE'S BAY ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Hawke’s Bay Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:
“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest, principal, and other charges on a loan of £50,000, known as ‘Reticulation Loan, 1946,’ authorized to be raised by the Hawke’s Bay Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of carrying out further reticulation in that part of the Hawke’s Bay Electric-power District comprised in the constituent districts of the County of Hawke's Bay, the Town District of Taradale, and Borough of Hastings, and the Town District of Havelock North, the said the Hawke’s Bay Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-ninth (1/9th) of a penny (d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value of all rateable property of the said constituent districts of the County of Hawke’s Bay, the Town District of Taradale, the Borough of Hastings, and the Town District of Havelock North, comprising the whole of the County of Hawke’s Bay, the Town District of Taradale, the Borough of Hastings, and the Town District of Havelock North; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a copy of a resolution passed by the Hawke’s Bay Electric-power Board at a meeting held on Tuesday, the 17th day of September, 1946.

WAIRROA TYRE SURGERY, LIMITED
IN LIQUIDATION
Notice is hereby given that the final meeting of members of the Wairoa Tyre Surgery, Limited (in Liquidation), will be held at the office of McCulloch, Butler, and Spence, Locke Street, Wairoa, on Thursday, 17th October, 1946, at 2 p.m., to consider the liquidator’s accounts of the winding-up.
