New Zealand Letters Patent No. 65884, dated the 29th
day of April, 1932, granted to JOHN ASHLEY HART for an
invention for “ Means for use in heating water and cooking
operations.”
NOTICE is hereby given that Harco Sales, Limited, a duly
incorporated company having its registered office at Pal-
merston Buildings, Queen Street, Auckland, in the Dominion of
New Zealand, as registered proprietor of New Zealand Letters
Patent No. 65884, intends to proceed upon a petition to the Supreme
Court of New Zealand at Wellington praying that the said letters
patent be extended for a further term : And notice is hereby given
that by order of the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Wellington
made on the 30th day of August, 1946, the said Court did order
that the 20th day of October, 1946, be fixed as the appointed day
before which the said petition shall not be heard.

on a proposal of the Te Awamutu Borough Council to raise a loan
of £40,000 for the extension and improvement of the borough sewer-
age system, the number of votes recorded was as follows :—

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
—
Waterworks Loan, 1945, £12,000
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Ellerslie
Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £12,000, to be known as ‘ The Waterworks
Loan, 1945,’ authorized to be raised by the Ellerslie Borough
Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of providing
funds to meet the cost of laying approximately 112 chains of new
8 in. water-mains to replace existing mains and fittings in the
industrial area in the borough, and approximately 130 chains of
4 in. water-mains to augment the supply throughout the residential
area of the borough, the said Ellerslie Borough Council hereby
makes and levies a special rate of one-fourth of one penny (¼d.)
in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital
value) of all the rateable property of the Borough of Ellerslie ;
and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during
the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of
April in each and every year during the currency of such loan,
being a period of twenty-five years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy
of a resolution passed by the Ellerslie Borough Council at its
meeting held on the 10th day of September, 1946.
