GISBORNE LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Gisborne Land District, situated in Blocks IX, X, XIII, and XIV, Waikohu Survey District, and XII and XVI, Ngatapa Survey District, containing seven thousand three hundred and forty-nine (7,349) acres, more or less, being Section 4x, Block IX, Waikohu Survey District, Lot 4, Deposited Plan 2346, and part Lot 2, Deposited Plan 1558, part Okahuatiu Nos. 1 and 2 Blocks (Gisborne plan S.O. 4374), and being part of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 84, folio 154 (Gisborne Registry). As the same is more particularly delineated on a plan deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, under No. 2959, and thereon edged red.

As witness my hand, this 17th day of September, 1946.

The Land and Income Tax (Annual) Act, 1946.—Land-tax payable

IN accordance with Order in Council dated 18th September, 1946, issued under the Land and Income Tax (Annual) Act, 1946, I hereby notify that the land-tax leviable under that Act is payable at any office of the Land and Income Tax Department or at any money-order post-office in one sum on Friday, 4th October, 1946, and that additional tax accrues if not paid by 25th October, 1946. Liability is not suspended by any objection, and tax must be paid by the prescribed date to avoid additional percentage; any over-payment will be refunded.

Demands will be issued on or about 27th September, 1946, and must be presented with all payments. Taxpayers who do not receive an expected demand should communicate with the Department.

Notice to Mariners No. 28 of 1946

THE following reprint of Admiralty Notice No. 1635 of 1946 is published for the general information of mariners :—

ADMIRALTY PUBLICATIONS

New Light Characteristics.—Abbreviations on Admiralty Charts

A type of flashing light is now being used whose characteristic cannot be described adequately by the abbreviations at present in use in Admiralty Charts and Publications.

This light exhibits flashes at a rate of more than 60 times a minute.

The three types are described below, and the abbreviation which will in future be used in Admiralty Charts and Publications is given for each.

(a) Quick Flashing.—Flashing continuously more than 60 times a minute.

Abbreviation :—Qk. Fl.

(b) Interrupted Quick Flashing.—Flashing at a rate of more than 60 times a minute with at regular intervals a total eclipse.

Abbreviation :—Int. Qk. Fl.

(c) Group interrupted Quick Flashing.—Groups of quick flashes as defined above, separated by relatively longer periods of total eclipse.

Abbreviation :—Gp. Int. Qk. Fl.

NOTE.—It is not considered possible within the space generally available on a chart to indicate whether the periods of total eclipse either within the group of flashes or between such groups are greater, equal to, or less than those of the light periods.
