The Lemon Marketing Regulations 1940.—Notice fixing Prices of certain Grades

Office of Minister of Marketing,
Wellington, 30th August, 1946.

Pursuant to Regulation 5 : 1 of the Lemon Marketing Regulations 1940, I hereby fix the following prices per loose bushel to be paid by the Marketing Department for lemons delivered to the Department during the undermentioned period.
The prices of Preferred Commercial and Commercial Grades are fixed on a basic rate of 4s. 8d. per loose bushel.
Period of delivery (both days inclusive): 1st September to 30th September, 1946:

The Levin Milk Delivery Notice 1943, Amendment No. 2

Pursuant to the Milk Delivery Emergency Regulations 1945,* the Minister of Marketing doth hereby give notice as follows :

  1. This notice may be cited as the Levin Milk Delivery Notice 1943, Amendment No. 2, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Levin Milk Delivery Notice 1943† (hereinafter referred to as the principal scheme).

  2. Clause (1) of the principal scheme is hereby amended in relation to the description of the term “the plan,” by deleting the words “Transport Department at Wellington under No. TT. 3387,” and substituting the words “Milk Marketing Division of the Marketing Department at Wellington under the No. M.M.D. 7.”

  3. Clause (6) of the principal scheme is hereby revoked and the following clause is substituted therefor:

“(6) The names of the vendors who are parties to this scheme and the areas in which they may deliver milk are as follows:

Name of Vendor. Area.

H. B. Cuff .. .. In the zone numbered 1 on the plan.
L. P. Griffith .. .. In the zone numbered 2 on the plan.

Child Welfare Act, 1925.—Establishment of a Receiving Home

It is hereby notified that, in pursuance of section 7 of the Child Welfare Act, 1925, premises situated at 31 Margaret Street, Palmerston North, are deemed to be established as an institution within the meaning of the said Act, under the name of the Receiving Home, Palmerston North.

Date of Election by Fire-insurance Companies to fill Extraordinary Vacancy on the Oamaru Fire Board

Pursuant to the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, and the rules thereunder, the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act doth appoint Friday, the 20th September, 1946, to be the date for holding the election of one member of the Oamaru Fire Board by the insurance companies concerned, such election being held to fill the extraordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. J. R. Callender.

Notice is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for housing purposes: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Lower Hutt and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.
