HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased, in pursuance of section 46 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, to increase the total number of members of the Kaitawa Domain Board from five to eight, and to appoint—

John Lawrence Beales, and
Matthew Thomas
as the additional members thereby rendered necessary.

The Canister Workers’ Labour Legislation Suspension Order 1942 revoked

IN terms of Regulation 5 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby approve of the persons named in Column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being Testing Officers under the said regulations for the authority specified in Column 1 of the said Schedule.

The Traffic Regulations 1936.—Direction Indicator approved
IN terms of Regulation 10 of the Traffic Regulations 1936, the Minister of Transport hereby approves of the appliance described in the Schedule hereto for use on or in connection with a motor-vehicle, provided that and so long as the said appliance is identical in design, construction, make, and effect with the sample thereof deposited in the office of the Transport Department, Wellington.

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman
WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies :
And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman :
And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 13th day of August, 1946, make an order determining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court :
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship :
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and hereby specifies the 9th day of October, 1946, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.
SCHEDULE
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT
FIRSTLY, that piece of land in the Manchester Block, Manawatu District, containing five (5) acres, more or less, being Lot No. 2 on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office, Wellington, No. 118, and being the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 19, folio 37 (Wellington Registry).
Secondly, that piece of land containing thirteen (13) acres one (1) rood and thirty-five (35) perches, more or less, being Allotment No. 1 on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office, Wellington, No. 118, which said land is part of the Subdivision A in the public map of the Manchester Block, deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Wellington, and is the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 29, folio 300 (Wellington Registry).
As witness my hand, this 28th day of August, 1946.

THE following special order made by the Stratford County Council on the 16th day of August, 1946, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928.
SPECIAL ORDER
“That, under the provisions of section 4 of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, the Stratford County Council hereby resolves, by way of special order, that barberry (Berberis vulgaris) shall be deemed to be a noxious weed within the County of Stratford as from the date when such special order is gazetted.”

Abolishing a Bobby Calf Marketing Pool Area
PURSUANT to the Bobby Calf Marketing Regulations 1946, I, Benjamin Roberts, Minister of Marketing, being satisfied that a sufficient majority of the producers in the Springs District Bobby Calf Marketing Pool Area, defined in the Schedule to the notice defining the Springs District Bobby Calf Marketing Pool Area,* are desirous that such area should be no longer a separate pool area, do hereby revoke the said notice, and I do hereby declare that this notice shall take effect on the 12th day of September, 1946.
