Setting apart Native Land as a Native Reservation

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 14th day of August, 1946

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section five of the Native Purposes Act, 1937, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby set apart and reserve the Native freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Native reservation for the common use of the Ngati-Hinekehu hapu of the Ngati-Porou Tribe as a meeting-place and marae.

PURSUANT to section one hundred and sixty-seven of the Native Land Act, 1931, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby vary an Order in Council made on the fourth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, and published in the Gazette on the seventh day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, at page 735, and affecting Hauturu East B 2 Section 2A 1A and other blocks by excluding therefrom the lands described in the Schedule hereto.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the Valuation of Land Act, 1925, and its amendments, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint James Oliphant, of Auckland, Solicitor, to be President of the Hamilton Assessment Court in place of Samuel Lewis.

Honorary Inspector of Scenic Reserves appointed

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section four of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

Ernest William Howat

to be an Honorary Inspector under the said Act.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 19th day of August, 1946.

Felix Alexis Armand Gazel, Esquire, Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to New Zealand to receive Moneys or Personal Chattels payable to Subjects of the French Republic

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 52 of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, as amended by section 54 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921–22, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify that moneys or personal chattels payable or deliverable by the Public Trustee to subjects of the French Republic resident therein may be paid or delivered to Felix Alexis Armand Gazel, Esquire, Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to New Zealand, who exercises, inter alia, the functions of Chief Consular Officer of the French Republic in Wellington.

Given under my name, this 9th day of August, 1946.
