NOTICE is hereby given in pursuance of the Regulations Act, 1936, of the making of regulations and Orders as under:

Appointment in the Royal New Zealand Navy

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to accept the transfer of Lieutenant (S) Vivian Robert Knight from the Royal New Zealand Naval Volunteer Reserve to the Royal New Zealand Navy, to date 1st August, 1946, and to appoint him to a permanent commission with the rank of Lieutenant (S), Royal New Zealand Navy, with seniority of 1st June, 1941, under the provisions of the Naval Defence Act, 1913.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to accept the transfer of the following officers from the Royal New Zealand Naval Volunteer Reserve to the Royal New Zealand Navy, and to appoint them to permanent commissions in the Royal New Zealand Navy, to date 1st July, 1946, with rank and seniority as indicated, under the provisions of the Naval Defence Act, 1913:
Lieutenant Brian Edmund Turner, to be Lieutenant, Royal New Zealand Navy, with seniority of 14th August, 1939.
Temporary Electrical Lieutenant Logan Boyce Carey, to be Lieutenant (L), Royal New Zealand Navy, with seniority of 29th September, 1939.
Temporary Lieutenant (Sp.) Frederick Hardman, to be Lieutenant (L), Royal New Zealand Navy, with seniority of 17th August, 1941.
Temporary Lieutenant (Sp.) Walter John Willis, to be Lieutenant (L), Royal New Zealand Navy, with seniority of 12th September, 1942.
Temporary Lieutenant (Sp.) Graeme Maunsell Beere, to be Lieutenant (L), Royal New Zealand Navy, with seniority of 28th February, 1944.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve the following appointments, termination of appointments, and promotions in the Royal New Zealand Navy:-
Captain William Eric Banks, C.B.E., D.S.C., R.N., lent Royal New Zealand Navy and appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed, to date 1st January, 1946.
Captain Charles Richard Vernon Pugh, C.B.E., R.N., lent Royal New Zealand Navy and appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed, to date 1st April, 1946, and as Naval Officer-in-Charge, Auckland, and Captain Superintendent, Auckland, to date 19th June, 1946.
The Venerable Archdeacon Harold Mayo Harris, R.D. (Commander, Royal Naval Reserve (retired)), entered as Chaplain, with seniority of 13th February, 1932, and appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed, to date 13th February, 1946.
Lieutenant-Commander George Raymond Davis-Goff, D.S.C., appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed, for duty inside Navy Office, Wellington, as Naval Assistant (Personnel) to the Second Naval Member, and granted the acting rank of Commander whilst holding this appointment, to date 1st July, 1946.
Acting Sub-Lieutenant Edwin Hallett Mace, promoted to Sub-Lieutenant (confirmed), with seniority of 1st August, 1944, and reappointed, to date 1st October, 1945.
Acting Sub-Lieutenant William Rawle Williams, promoted to Sub-Lieutenant (confirmed), with seniority of 1st October, 1944, and reappointed, to date 1st October, 1945.
Lieutenant (E) Leonard Henry Andrewes, R.N., lent Royal New Zealand Navy and appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed, to date 1st June, 1946.
Lieutenant (E) Arthur Humphrey Topham, R.N., lent Royal New Zealand Navy and appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed, to date 11th March, 1946.
Sub-Lieutenant (E) Thomas Leigh Taylor, promoted to the rank of Acting-Lieutenant (E), with seniority of 1st November, 1945, and reappointed, to date 1st December, 1945.
Sub-Lieutenant (E) Benjamin Corbett Pester, promoted to the rank of Acting Lieutenant (E), with seniority of 1st December, 1945, and reappointed, to date 1st December, 1945.
