HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces :—

N.Z. STAFF CORPS

Lieutenant-Colonel (temp. Brigadier) W. G. Gentry, D.S.O., O.B.E., relinquishes the appointment of New Zealand Representative on the Joint Chiefs of Staff Organization in Australia (British Occupational Force for Japan), dated 8th July, 1946, is appointed Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Army Headquarters, and retains the temporary rank of Brigadier whilst so employed, dated 15th July, 1946.

REGIMENT OF ROYAL N.Z. ARTILLERY

Captain (temp. Colonel) H. E. Gilbert, D.S.O., O.B.E., ceases to be attached to the branch of the Adjutant-General, Army Headquarters, and is appointed New Zealand Representative on the Joint Chiefs of Staff Organization in Australia (British Occupational Force for Japan). Dated 9th July, 1946.
