At the Government House at Wellington, this 14th day of
August, 1946

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section one hundred and forty-nine of the Public
Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
consent to the Cook County Council stopping the portions of road
described in the Schedule hereto.

Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in Town of Clinton, Otago Land District

August, 1946

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is a reserve
duly set apart for Post and Telegraph purposes: And
whereas it is expedient that the purposes of the reservation over
such land shall be changed to a reserve for railway purposes:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in
exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by
subsection one (a) of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains,
and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby declare that the purpose
of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto is hereby changed
from a reserve for Post and Telegraph purposes to a reserve for
railway purposes.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is a
reserve duly set apart for a reformatory-site: And
whereas it is expedient that the purpose of the reservation over
such land shall be changed to a reserve for a site for a mental
hospital:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in
exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by
subsection one (a) of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains,
and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby declare that the purpose
of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto is hereby changed
from a reserve for a reformatory-site to a reserve for a site for a
mental hospital.

SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT

All that area situated in Block V, Waiopelu Survey District,
containing by admeasurement 33 acres 2 roods and 36 perches,
more or less, being Section 56, Horowhenua East Village Settlement.

Also all that area situated in Block V, Waiopelu Survey
District, containing by admeasurement 171 acres 1 rood and 6
perches, more or less, being Sections 53, 54, 55, 57, 59, 61, and
part Section 62, Horowhenua East Village Settlement, bounded
towards the north-west by the North Island Main Trunk Railway,
towards the north-east by Kimberley Road, towards the south-east by Section 85, Block V, Waiopelu Survey District, and towards
the south-west by Lot 15 on D.P. 2463 and Lots 4, 3, 2, and 1
on D.P. 2800, all being part of Horowhenua No. 14 Block. As
the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked
L. and S. 6/11/145, deposited in the Head Office, Department of
Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Vesting the Control of a Reserve in the Hapuku Public Hall Board

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 7th day of
August, 1946

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is a reserve
duly set apart for a site for a public hall: And whereas it is
expedient that the control of the said reserve should be vested in a
special Board as hereinafter provided:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the
powers and authorities conferred upon him by section seventeen of
the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth
hereby vest the control of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto
for the period of five years from the date hereof (unless previously
amended or revoked under the said Act), in the undermentioned
persons, namely,—

Bernice Ethel Hailes,
Margaret Harnett,
Molly Jean MacRae,
William Alfred Wilson,
Barney Martin, and
Patrick Terence Boyd,

who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the
name of the Hapuku Public Hall Board (hereinafter referred to as
the Board), with the powers and subject to the conditions hereinafter
contained, that is to say :—

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the
    third Monday in each month at 8 o'clock p.m. at the Hapuku Public
    Hall, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed
    by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Monday, the 19th
    day of August, 1946.

  2. The members of the Board shall at their first meeting, and
    thereafter at the annual meeting hereinafter mentioned, elect one of
    themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion and shall
    have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold
    office until the election of his successor.

  3. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, provided
    that two days' notice of any such meeting is given to each member,
    specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting ;
    and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at
    such meeting.

  4. Any three members of the Board shall form a quorum.
    Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time
    appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose
    one of their number to be Chairman of such meeting.

  6. If by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise the seat of
    any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents
    himself without reasonable cause from three consecutive meetings
    of the Board, the Governor-General shall have power to appoint any
    other person to be a member of the Board in his stead.

  7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes
    of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

  8. The Board shall have prepared and submitted at an annual
    meeting to be held in the month of April in each year a report of the
    proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on the 31st
    day of March, together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report and
    statement, certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall be sent to
    the Minister of Lands as soon as possible after each annual meeting.

  9. The Board shall control the said reserve and the building
    erected thereon for the purposes of a public hall, and shall also afford
    settlers and residents of Hapuku and the surrounding district such
    facilities for meeting within the said hall as may from time to time
    be determined by the Board ; provided that the Board shall have
    power to fix reasonable charges for the use of the said hall.

SCHEDULE

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT

All that area containing by admeasurement 1 rood, more or less,
being part Section 68, Block V, Mount Fyffe Survey District. As
the same is more particularly delineated on plan marked L. and S
54852 (3), deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and
Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
