Appointments in the Public Service

Office of the Public Service Commissioner,

THE Public Service Commissioner has made the following
appointments in the Public Service:

Thomas Alexander Jacobson
to be Deputy Registrar at Blenheim of the Supreme Court of New
Zealand and Assistant Clerk of the Magistrates' Court at Blenheim
for the purposes of the Magistrates' Courts Act, 1908, on and from
the 1st day of July, 1946.

Dorothy Jean Lucas
to be a Shorthand Reporter under the Shorthand Reporters Act,
1908, on and from the 19th day of July, 1946.

David Masson Greig
to be Under-Secretary for Lands for the purposes of the Land Act,
1924, and Land Purchase Controller for the purposes of the Land
for Settlements Act, 1925, on and from the 22nd day of July, 1946.

Frederick Charles Schroeder
to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Tikitiki,
on and from the 14th day of March, 1946.

Leslie Arthur Witham
to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Levin,
on and from the 8th day of July, 1946.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block IV, Waikouaiti Survey
District, for a Mental Hospital

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions
of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public
work—to wit, the construction of a mental hospital—and for the
purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule
hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given
that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in
the post-office at Seacliff and is there open for inspection; and that
all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by
the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded
objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking
of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing,
within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the
Minister of Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken:
85 acres 0 roods 7 perches.
Being part Sections 21 and 48.
Situated in Block IV, Waikouaiti Survey District. (Otago
R.D.).
In the Otago Land District; as the same is more particularly
delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 123841, deposited in the
office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon edged
red.

Notice of Intention to take Land in the City of Wanganui for Housing
Purposes

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions
of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in
the Schedule hereto for housing purposes: And notice is hereby
further given that the plan of the land required to be taken is
deposited in the post-office at Wanganui and is there open for
inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said
land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking
of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing,
within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the
Minister of Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken:
4 acres.
Being part Sections 8 and 9, Right Bank, Wanganui River (City of
Wanganui), and being the whole of the land comprised and
described in certificate of title, Vol. 168, folio 235 (Wellington
Land Registry).
In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more parti-
cularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 123852, deposited
in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon
edged red.

of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public
work—to wit, the construction of a post-office—and for the purposes
of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is
required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the
plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-
office at Paraparaumu Beach and is there open for inspection;
and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public
work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any
well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work
or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send
such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this
notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken:
24·2 perches.
Being Lot 70, D.P. 4828, part Ngarara West B 7, Subdivision 3.
Situated in Block III, Kapiti Survey District.

of the said Schedule.
