Land taken for Post and Telegraph Purposes in the City of Christchurch

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for Post and Telegraph purposes; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the fifteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty-six.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 1 rood.
Being Town Section 414, City of Christchurch, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in Certificate of Title, Volume 212, folio 78 (Canterbury Land Registry).

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 8th day of July, 1946.

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for a technical school; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the fifteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty-six.

Being part Section 62, Hutt District.

Situated in Block X, Belmont Survey District (City of Lower Hutt). (S.O. 21346.)

In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 122379, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon edged orange.

Additional Land and an Easement over Land taken for Defence Purposes in Block VI, Mangahao Survey District

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the additional land described in the First Schedule hereto is hereby taken for defence purposes; and also do hereby declare that an easement is taken for defence purposes over the land described in the Second Schedule hereto, vesting in His Majesty the King full and free right, liberty, license, and authority in perpetuity to lay, construct, place, and maintain a septic tank and a line of pipes along, under, or over the said land, and to convey the effluent from the said septic tank through the said pipes or otherwise over or under the said land, such easement to be held appurtenant to the land described in the First Schedule hereto.

Authorizing Lewis Richard Montague White, of Taumarunui, Farmer, to use Water for the Purpose of generating Electricity and to erect certain Electric Lines

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 3rd day of July, 1946

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. P. FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby grant to Lewis Richard Montague White, of Taumarunui, Farmer (hereinafter referred to as the licensee), a license subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth to obstruct, impound, or divert the waters of Kururau Stream, situated in Section 11, Block XI, Ohura Survey District, in the Land District of Taranaki, and to take and use therefrom for the purposes hereinafter set forth a stream of water not exceeding 1 cubic foot per second at any one time, and to erect the electric lines hereinafter described.

CONDITIONS

  1. IMPLIED CONDITIONS

THE conditions directed to be implied in all licenses by the Water-power Regulations 1934 and the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this license, except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.

  1. LICENSE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS

This license is issued under the Water-power Regulations 1934, and is subject thereto and to the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, and the Radio Interference Regulations 1934, and to any regulations made or to be made in amplification or amendment thereof or in substitution therefor.

  1. UTILIZATION OF WATER AND LOCATION OF HEADWORKS

Water shall be used under this license solely for the purpose of generating electricity, and shall be taken from the said stream at a point in Section 11, Block XI, Ohura Survey District, in the Taranaki Land District, as indicated on the plan marked P.W.D. 122690, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works.

  1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS

The licensee is hereby authorized, subject to the conditions hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the following works for the purposes of this license, the positions of the said works being indicated on the said plan P.W.D. 122690:—

(a) Headworks consisting of a dam and intake giving a static head of approximately 22 ft.:
(b) Pipe-line leading from a point in Kururau Stream in Section 11, Block XI, Ohura Survey District, to the power-house hereinafter described and leading from the power-house to the said stream.:
(c) Water-turbine and power-house with all necessary equipment for generating electricity:
(d) Electric lines leading from the power-house aforesaid across Kururau Stream, Kururau Road, and Section 2, Block XI, Ohura Survey District, to the licensee’s houses, the said lines being more particularly delineated on the aforementioned plan P.W.D. 122690.

  1. DURATION OF LICENSE

This license shall continue in force until the 31st day of March, 1966, or until electrical energy is available from any Electric-power Board or other public source of supply, whichever is the earlier.

  1. SYSTEM OF SUPPLY

The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph (d) of clause 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935. The generating voltage and the transmission voltage shall be approximately 230 volts direct current.

  1. RENTAL

For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum payable in respect of this license, the licensee may install a suitable maximum-demand indicator to the satisfaction of the Inspecting Engineer of the State Hydro-electric Department, and, failing such installation, the rental shall be determined on the maximum capacity of the generating plant installed. The present plant is rated at 1 kilowatt.
