BOROUGH OF ROTORUA
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and
the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Physical Welfare
and Recreation Act, 1937.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Rotorua Borough Council
proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned acts,
to execute a certain public work—namely, the provision by it of
facilities, equipment, and centres for physical training, exercise,
sport, recreation of the inhabitants of its district, and social
activities related thereto—and for the purposes of such public
work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to
be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the
lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of
the Town Clerk to the said Council situated in Arawa Street and
is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary
office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work
or by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objec-
tions to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of
the said lands must state their objections in writing, and send
the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice,
to the Town Clerk at the Council Chambers, Arawa Street, Rotorua.
SCHEDULE
FIRSTLY, all that the interest of Percy Marlborough Stewart, of
England, Gentleman, as Crown lessee, in that piece of land containing
2 roods 19·4 perches, more or less, situate in the Borough of Rotorua,
being Lots 107 and 108 on a plan deposited in the Land Registry
Office at Auckland under No. 3178, and being part of Section 30
of the Suburbs of Rotorua.
Secondly, all that the interest of the said Percy Marlborough
Stewart, as sublessee from himself under sublease, Registered No.
10387, of that piece of land containing 2 roods 19·4 perches, more
or less, situate in the Borough of Rotorua, being Lots 107 and 108
on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Auckland under
No. 3178, and being part of Section 30 of the Suburbs of Rotorua,
and being the whole of the land comprised and described in
Memorandum of Lease, Registered No. 10387, and in leasehold
certificate of title, Vol. 785, folio 160 (Auckland Registry).
Thirdly, all that the interest of the said Percy Marlborough
Stewart, as Crown lessee in that piece of land containing 1 acre
1 rood 39·1 perches, situate in the Borough of Rotorua, being
part of Section 30 of the Suburbs of Rotorua, as more particu-
larly shown on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at
Auckland under No. 3178.
Fourthly, all that interest of Max McDonald Yerex, of Rotorua,
Automobile Association Patrolman, as sublessee from the said Percy
Marlborough Stewart under sublease, Registered No. 19283, of all
that piece of land containing 1 acre 1 rood 39·1 perches, situate
in the Borough of Rotorua, and being part of Section 30 of the
Suburbs of Rotorua, as more particularly shown on a plan deposited
in the Land Registry Office at Auckland under No. 3178, and being
the whole of the land comprised and described in Memorandum of
Lease, Registered No. 19283, and in leasehold certificate of title,
Vol. 813, folio 134 (Auckland Registry).
The land firstly and secondly described above is coloured red
on the plan. The land thirdly and fourthly described above is
coloured green on the plan.

NOTICE OF CHANGE OF SURNAME
KNOW all men by these presents (which are intended to be
enrolled in the Registry of the Supreme Court of New Zealand
at Auckland) that I, DAVID STANLEY MITCHELL, of Otahuhu,
Farm Hand, now lately called DAVID STANLEY TIDD, do hereby
absolutely renounce and abandon the use of my former surname
of TIDD and in lieu thereof do assume and adopt the surname of
MITCHELL, so that I may henceforth be called and known not by
my former surname of TIDD but by my assumed surname of
MITCHELL; and, for the purpose of evidencing such change, I
hereby declare that I shall at all times henceforth in all actions
and proceedings, dealings, and transactions, and upon all occasions
use and subscribe the said surname of MITCHELL in lieu of my
former surname of TIDD; and I hereby expressly authorize and
request all persons at all times henceforth to designate and address
me by my said assumed surname of MITCHELL accordingly.
In witness whereof these presents have been executed this
12th day of June, 1946.

UNDER the Regulations Act, 1936, statutory regulations
of general legislative force are no longer published
in the New Zealand Gazette, but are supplied under any one
or more of the following arrangements:—
(1) All regulations serially as issued (punched for
filing) subscription 30s. per annum in advance.
(2) Annual volume (including index) bound in buckram,
25s. (Volumes for years 1940, 1941, and 1942 are
out of print.)
(3) Serially as issued and annual bound volume, as in
(1) and (2) above, on combined subscription basis,
42s. per annum in advance.
(4) Separate regulations as issued.
(5) Loose-leaf binder for filing serial issues, 10s. 6d.;
postage free.
The price of each regulation is printed thereon, facili-
tating the purchase of extra copies.
Orders on the subscription basis should be placed now
with the Government Printer, Wellington. Separate copies
may be purchased at the Chief Post-offices at Auckland,
Christchurch, or Dunedin.

SUBSCRIPTIONS.—The subscription is at the rate of
£3 3s. per annum, including postage, PAYABLE IN
ADVANCE.
Single copies of the Gazette as follows:—
Ordinary Weekly Gazette: For the first 32 pages, 9d.,
increasing by 3d. for every subsequent 16 pages or
part thereof; postage, 1d.
Supplementary and Extraordinary Gazettes: For the
first 8 pages, 6d.; over 8 pages and not exceeding
32 pages, 9d., increasing by 3d. for every subsequent
16 pages or part thereof; postage, 1d.
Advertisements are charged at the rate of 6d. per line
for the first insertion, and 3d. per line for the second and
any subsequent insertions.
All advertisements should be written on one side of the
paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible
hand.
The number of insertions required must be written
across the face of the advertisement.
The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday
evening of each week, and notices for insertion must be
received by the Government Printer before 12 o’clock of the
day preceding publication.
1st NEW ZEALAND EXPEDITIONARY FORCE, 1914–18
ROLL OF HONOUR published in 1924 by the DEFENCE
DEPARTMENT, giving—
(1) A list of members of the 1st New Zealand Expedi-
tionary Force killed in action, died of wounds
inflicted, of accidents occurring, or disease con-
tracted while on active service.
(2) Those who died after discharge from the 1st New
Zealand Expeditionary Force from wounds inflicted
or disease contracted while on active service up
to 31st December, 1923.
(3) Those who died from accident occurring or disease
contracted while training with or attached to the
1st New Zealand Expeditionary Force of New
Zealand.
