The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of Discharged Servicemen
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the intention of the Minister of Lands to take under Part II of the said Act the lands described in the First Schedule hereto, and a copy of the said notice was published in the Gazette on the 20th day of September, 1945, at page 1167 :
And whereas objections were made by two occupiers in the manner prescribed by the said Act, objecting to the taking of part of the said lands :
And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the objections have been referred did on the 3rd day of May, 1946, make an order dismissing the objections subject to the exclusion of the areas referred to in the Second Schedule hereto from the land to be taken :
And whereas no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the Act or within any further time allowed by the Court :
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship :
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 27 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the lands described in the Third Schedule hereto are taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 18th day of July, 1946, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing two thousand and seventeen (2,017) acres one (1) rood and thirty-four decimal eight (34·8) perches, more or less, being private road and Lots 1A, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, and 25, and parts Lots 1, 5, 6, 7, 12, and 14, on Deeds Plan 311, Goodwood Estate, Blocks I and IV, Hawksbury Survey District, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 271, folio 76, limited as to parcels (Otago Registry).
