CROWN LANDS NOTICES

Land in Westland Land District forfeited

Department of Lands and Survey, Wellington, 28th May, 1946.

NOTICE is hereby given that the lease of the undermentioned land having been declared forfeit by resolution of the Westland Land Board, the said land has thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

Land in Otago Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease

District Lands and Survey Office,
Dunedin, 28th May, 1946.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 8th July, 1946.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, on Wednesday, 10th July, 1946, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and amount of weighting for improvements.

NOTE.—This section is offered in terms of section 153 of the Land Act, 1924, which provides that no right to any mineral under the surface shall pertain to the lessee, whose rights shall be to the surface soil only.

SCHEDULE

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND

Vincent County.—Lower Wanaka Survey District.—Otago Mining District

SECTION 4, Block V: Area, 217 acres. Capital value, £270; half-yearly rent, £5 8s.

Weighted with £12 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising fencing.

The property is three miles and three-quarters from Hawea, thirty-two miles from the Railway-station, Cromwell, and one mile from Maungawera School. Access is from Cromwell, which is about thirty-two miles distant by good gravelled road and approximately five miles from Wanaka by gravelled road.

The section comprises level to easy undulating land with some 40 acres on the south-east at a lower level, separated from the balance by a steep face. The land is somewhat stony in places, but with patches of quite good and easily cultivatable soil. The soil is a schisty loam on a clay and gravel formation. The section is in its natural state, being covered with scabweed and scanty native vegetation; it is not watered, but power is available for pumping from the river. Should the section be selected by an ex-serviceman, rehabilitation finance will not be available for development.

LAND TRANSFER ACT NOTICES

EVIDENCE of the loss of the outstanding copy of Memorandum of Mortgage No. 210231, affecting Lot 4, Deposited Plan 3870, being part Allotment 140 of Section 10, Suburbs of Auckland, and all the land in certificate of title, Vol. 207, folio 252 (Auckland Registry), whereof Arthur John Parry, of Auckland, Barman, is the mortgagor, and WILLIAM JARROTT, of Auckland, Hairdresser, is the mortgagee, having been lodged with me together with an application to register a transmission of the said mortgage to the Public Trustee without production of the outstanding copy thereof in terms of section 40 of the Land Transfer Act, 1915, notice is hereby given of my intention to register such transmission after fourteen days from 30th May, 1946.

EVIDENCE of the loss or destruction of Occupation License on Deferred Payments, Vol. 87, folio 245 (Gisborne Registry), for Section 20, Town of Ruatoria Extension No. 3, containing 2 roods 9·6 perches, more or less, in the name of MARIA BIMLER, of Gisborne, Married Woman, having been lodged with me, and application having been made to me to issue a provisional occupation license in lieu thereof, notice is hereby given of my intention to issue such provisional occupation license upon the expiry of fourteen days from the date of the Gazette containing this notice.
