Details : A submarine telephone cable has been laid from a
position 268° one cable from Finger Point in a 137° direction to
Ponui Head. Mariners are warned not to anchor in the vicinity
of the above cable.

(1) Light discontinued
Position : 278° 9 3 cables from War Memorial white column :
Lat., 37° 08' S., long.; 175° 32'.4 E. (approx.).
Details : The fixed red light has been discontinued and the four-
pile beacon will be retained as a day mark for pleasure craft.
(2) Harbour closed
Position : Tidal Basin : Lat., 37° 08' S., long.; 175° 31'.5 E.
(approx.)
Details : The harbour is completely closed to shipping, the
Burke Street Wharf demolished, and the sea walls, whose outer
extremity is marked by the beacon in (1) above, have almost
disappeared in the mud.

Notice to make Returns of Income under the Land and Income Tax
Act, 1923, and Amendments, in those Cases where a Return is
accepted to a Date later than 31st March, 1946
EVERY person and company, whether a taxpayer or not, having
derived income from any source or by any means which is made
the subject of taxation under the Land and Income Tax Act, 1923, or
any amendment thereof, whose return is accepted for a year ending
later than 31st March, 1946, is hereby required to furnish a return
of income within two months of such later date.
Returns shall be delivered at or forwarded to the Branch Office
of the Land and Income Tax Department where the taxpayer's
records are filed.
Return forms are available at all post-offices or from any office
of the Land and Income Tax Department. Posters showing particulars
or persons liable to furnish returns are displayed at these offices.
Any person failing to furnish a return at the prescribed time is
liable to a penalty up to £100.

Notice of Revocation of Powers under the Defence Emergency
Regulations 1941.--Discontinuance of Live Bombing and
Projectile Ranges
In accordance with the powers conferred on the Minister of
Defence under section 18 of the Defence Emergency Regulations
1941, and in accordance with the authority conferred on me by the
said Minister of Defence pursuant to section 5c (1) of the Defence
Emergency Regulations 1941, Amendment No. 3, I hereby give
notice of the revocation of the establishment of the following danger
areas :--
(a) Live Bombing Range.--The target consists of a small rocky
island situated in the Hauraki Gulf at latitude 36° 42’ 35" S. and
longitude 175° 0' 23" E. This point is 5,800 yards from the
northern tip of Rakiri Island on a bearing of 090° T. The danger
area is all that area within a circle described, with the target as a
centre and having a radius of 2,000 yards. The area includes all
those rocks known as David Rocks.
(b) Forward Firing Rocket-projectile Range.--The danger area
is bounded on the west by a line joining 175° 4’ 25" E., 36° 55' 0" S. ;
175° 4' 25" E., 36° 55' 15" S. ; on the north by a line extending
3,000 yards on a bearing 040° T. from 175° 4’ 25" E., 36° 55' 0" S. ;
on the south by a line joining the seaward extremities of the north
and south boundaries. This range may be popularly described as
being the bay on the south side of Tamaki Strait between Koherunui
Point and a point half a mile north-east of Whaka-Kai-Wharu
Point.
(c) Danger Area No. 1.--Situated within the Franklin County and
the Maramarua Survey District, being part of Block II. The danger
area is all that area within a circle having a radius of 1,000 yards
from the target position at latitude 37° 14' 44" S. and longitude
175° 04' 03" E. This target position is approximately two miles
and a half east of Pokeno, and the south perimeter of the danger
area almost cuts the new Pokeno-Thames Railway formation.
(d) Danger Area No. 2.--Situated within the North Waikato
County and the Maramarua Survey District, being part of Blocks VII
and XI. The danger area is all that area within a circle having a
radius of 2,000 yards from the target position at latitude 37° 20’ 16" S.
and longitude 175° 07' 53" E. The target position is at a point
approximately four miles east of the Waikato River and three miles
south of the Maramarua River.
The notices published at page 299 in the supplement to the
New Zealand Gazette of Thursday, 15th March, 1945, and at page 646
in the New Zealand Gazette of Thursday, 7th June, 1945, relating to
the above areas are hereby revoked.

Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III
of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936
Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit
Auckland Motor Yacht Club, P.O. Box 793, Auckland, has
applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be
installed on a jetty at Westhaven, Auckland.
A. B. Watkins (trading as Roberts and Watkins), King Street,
Dunedin, has applied for permission to shift seven pumps from
service-station premises at 574 King Street to a new site on the
corner of King and Dundas Streets, Dunedin.
R. A. Foubister, 26 Coronation Street, Spreydon, Christchurch,
has applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from four pumps to
be installed on proposed new service-station premises, 157 Cranford
Street, St. Albans, Christchurch.
W. A. Habgood, West Belt, Lincoln, has applied for permission
to install one additional pump, making a total of two on merchant's
premises at Lincoln.
Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be
materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on
these applications should, not later than the 13th day of June, 1946,
submit any written evidence and representations they may desire
to tender. All communications should be addressed to the Secretary,
Bureau of Industry, C.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.
