(4) In Hutt and Horowhenua Counties—
A new highway from the vicinity of Paekakariki between the
present highway and the coast, rejoining the present
highway near the Township of Waikanae.

(5) In the Hutt County—
(a) The realignment, relocation, and improvement of the
highway from Haywards to Plimmerton, including
reclamation and deviation across the north-eastern
arm of the Porirua Harbour.
(b) Improvement of road access from Lower Hutt to
Wainui-o-mata.

(6) In the Petone Borough and Lower Hutt City and Hutt County—
New highway from Petone to Silverstream via Melling and
Belmont or Taita and Haywards.

(7) New highway from Silverstream to Maoribank following the
river-bank.

(8) In the Hutt and Featherston Counties—
A new highway and improvement of the existing highway
across and through the Rimutaka Mountains from
Mungaroa to Featherston, including major deviation
and tunnel route.

(9) On the Petone–Eastbourne Highway a new bridge and deviation
therefor to replace the Hutt Pipe Bridge.

(10) Generally within the area, improvement of existing arterial
access.

(C) Air :—
(a) The improvement of Rongotai Aerodrome by acquisition
of additional land and the reclamation of part of
Evans Bay and extension of the aerodrome across
the intervening lands.
(b) The improvement of existing facilities for air travel at
Paraparaumu.

(D) The provision and improvement of internal public transport
services by motor-vehicle and trackless trolley omnibus for
both passengers and goods.

(E) Broadcasting and Wireless Communications and Navigational
Aids—
The provision of new and the improvement of existing
facilities for national and commercial broadcasting, for
wireless communication services, and wireless navigational
aids.

7. Utilities

(a) Electricity.—The construction of transmission lines, sub-
stations, and other electrical installations, and the distribution
and supply of electricity.
(b) Water-supply.—Works for storage and distribution and
supply of water.
(c) Drainage and Sewage-disposal Works.—The provision of
new and the extension and improvement of existing drainage and
sewage-disposal works.
(d) Postal, telegraph, and telephone services, including
buildings, lines, and other works.
(e) Such other public utilities and services as may appear to
be warranted.

8. Subdivisional Development

(a) The development of areas for residential, commercial,
industrial, and recreational purposes throughout the area, including
special developments in the cities of Lower Hutt and Wellington,
the Borough of Upper Hutt, the northern and western parts of the
County of Featherston, and at Trentham, Johnsonville, Tawa Flat,
Titahi Bay, Porirua, Ohariu Valley, South Makara, and Wainui,
and including the construction of dwellinghouses and other works
provided for by the Housing Act, 1919.
(b) The reclamation of overcrowded areas in Wellington City,
and the resubdivision and better utilization of the lands and the
provision of alternative accommodation.
(c) The subdivision, regrouping, and improvement of lands
affected by reclamation and drainage works in the area and better
utilization thereof.
(d) The reconstruction and improvement where necessary of
existing streets and bridges approaching developmental works.

9. Social Services

(i) Provision of sites and buildings and services throughout the
area for social and cultural services.
(ii) The provision and development of recreational areas and
facilities, particularly in the coastal area north of Paekakariki.

10. Government and Local Administration and Works

The provision of sites and buildings to provide for local and
General Government activities in every sphere, and, in particular,
including for the General Government a Government centre in the
vicinity of the present Parliament Buildings and civic and cultural
centres for Wellington City and Lower Hutt City.

11. Harbour Works and Wharf Improvements

(a) New breastwork and shed on Fryatt Quay, new shed on
Aotea Quay, new breastwork and two sheds on Jervois Quay, new
coal-handling facilities, either extending those now in use or
involving a new wharf at Kaiwarra, and a new engineering workshop.
(b) Reclamation in Port Nicholson and Porirua Harbours for
the various works specified in this notice.

12. Quarries, Shingle-pits, &c.

Provision and development of sources of supply and for storage
of materials necessary for construction works.

13. Defence

The construction and improvement of defence installations.
