THE following notice, received by the Minister of Finance from the Mayor, Hawera Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loan Act, 1926.

The Hawera Borough Duplication Loan, £64,000, 1945
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Hawera, taken on the 10th day of May, 1946, on the proposal of the Hawera Borough Council to borrow the sum of £64,000 for the purpose of increasing and improving the supply of water to the Borough of Hawera—

CROWN LANDS NOTICE
Lands in Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease
Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 21st May, 1946.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 24th June, 1946.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Tuesday, 25th June, 1946, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands. Applicants are required to produce documentary evidence of their financial position and farming experience.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicants will be required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, and lease fee.
SCHEDULE
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LANDS
Piako County.—Waitoa Survey District
(Exempt from payment of rent for two years.*)
Section 17, Block VII: Area, 168 acres 2 roods 34 perches. Capital value, £175; half-yearly rent, £4 7s. 6d.
Section 20, Block VII: Area, 128 acres 0 rood 2 perches. Capital value, £275; half-yearly rent, £6 17s. 6d.
- Exemption subject to effecting, within the two-year period, of permanent improvements to twice the value of the rent, in addition to the ordinary improvements required by the Land Act, 1924.
The sections are suitable for run-offs, situated on Tahuna-Paeroa Road about seven miles from Te Aroha and two miles from Elstow. They comprise level swamp land, some of which was burnt in the 1945-46 summer, and are considered suitable only for working in conjunction with land in the locality. Applicants must personally inspect the sections before applying.

EVIDENCE having been furnished of the loss of certificate of title, Vol. 419, folio 47 (Canterbury Registry), for part of Lot 1 on Deposited Plan 1098, part of Rural Section 298, situate in Block III, Christchurch Survey District, whereof MERLE MOORE, of Belfast (now of Christchurch), Dressmaker, is the registered proprietor, together with an application to issue a new certificate of title in lieu thereof, I hereby give notice of my intention to issue such new certificate of title at the expiration of fourteen days from 23rd May, 1946.
