(now old dry bed of south branch of river) in line with the centre
of the road forming the western boundary of Rural Section 7449,
Block VI, Christchurch Survey District; thence proceeding in a
north-easterly direction along the middle of the said south branch
of that river; along the middle of Stewart's Gully and south-
easterly down the middle of the main channel of the Waimakariri
River to the sea; thence southerly generally along mean high-water
mark of the sea to a point in line with the southern side of Beach
Road, being a point on the boundary of the City of Christchurch,
as described in the First Schedule hereto; thence generally in a
westerly and southerly direction along that boundary to its junction
with the northern boundary of the Riccarton Borough (New Zealand
Gazette, 1932, page 554); thence proceeding westerly, northerly,
southerly, and south-easterly generally along the boundary of the
Riccarton Borough aforesaid to its junction with the north-western
boundary of the City of Christchurch aforesaid; thence south-
westerly along that boundary to the Heathcote River near the
southernmost corner of Rural Section 159; thence north-westerly
to and along the centre of the road forming the north-eastern
boundaries of Rural Sections 146, 156, 211, 240, and 108; thence
westerly along the centre of the road forming the northern boundaries
of the said Rural Section 108 and of Rural Sections 160, 389, Reserve
79 (racecourse), and Rural Section 1155; thence north-easterly along
the centre of the road forming the north-western boundaries of
Rural Sections 1126, 1209, 1236, 1089, 1714, 3282, 4414, 2354, 58,
2780, and Reserve 323; thence northerly along the centre of the
road running through Reserve 946 and forming the western
boundaries of Rural Sections 4326 and 7449 and the production
of the centre of the said road to the point of commencement.
THIRD SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE AVON RIDING OF THE COUNTY OF WAIMAIRI
ALL that area in the County of Waimairi, Canterbury Land District,
bounded by a line commencing at a point on the intersection of the
centre of Westminster Street with the production north-westward
of the south-western side of Shirley Road, being a point on the
boundary of the City of Christchurch, as described in the First
Schedule hereto; thence north-easterly and north-westerly along
the centre of the said Westminster Street and Hills Road to the
centre of Brigg's Road; thence easterly along the centre of that
road and Horseshoe Lake Road to the centre of Lake Terrace Road;
thence northerly along the centre of Burwood Road to the centre
of Travis Road; thence easterly along the centre of that road to
the centre of Frost's Road; thence northerly along the centre of
that road to the centre of Beach Road; thence easterly along the
centre of that road, to and across Racecourse Road to the inter-
section of the southern side of Beach Road with the eastern side of
Racecourse Road aforesaid, being a point on the boundary of the
City of Christchurch aforesaid; thence south-westerly generally
along that boundary to the point of commencement.
BOUNDARIES OF THE FENDALTON RIDING OF THE COUNTY OF
WAIMAIRI
All that area in the Waimairi County, Canterbury Land District,
bounded by a line commencing at a point on the intersection of the
centre of Ilam Road with the south-western side of Wairarapa Road,
being a point on the boundary of the City of Christchurch, as
described in the First Schedule hereto; thence south-westerly and
southerly along the centre of Ilam Road aforesaid to Kirkwood
Avenue; thence easterly along the centre of that road to the
boundary of the Borough of Riccarton (New Zealand Gazette, 1932,
page 554); thence north-easterly, southerly, and again north-easterly
generally along that boundary to its junction with the boundary
of the City of Christchurch aforesaid; thence north-easterly and
north-westerly generally along the said City of Christchurch
boundary to the point of commencement.
BOUNDARIES OF THE HAREWOOD RIDING OF THE COUNTY OF
WAIMAIRI
All that area in the County of Waimairi, Canterbury Land
District, bounded on the north generally by the boundary of the
County of Waimairi, as described in the Second Schedule hereto,
from a point in the middle of the south branch of the Waimakariri
River in line with the middle of the road forming the western
boundary of Rural Section 7449, to a point in the middle of the
said Waimakariri River in line with the road forming the western
boundary of Rural Section 848; thence southerly along that road
to the middle of John's Road; thence along the middle of John's
Road to the easternmost corner of Rural Section 806; thence
along the south-eastern boundary of Rural Section 806 to the middle
of Englefield Road; thence along the middle of Englefield Road
to the middle of North Road; thence south-westerly along the
middle of North Road to the middle of Styx Road; thence along
the middle of Styx Road to the middle of Boundary Drain Road;
thence along the middle of Boundary Drain Road, Foster's Road,
and Veitch's Road to the middle of Sawyer's Arms Road; thence
along Sawyer's Arms Road to the middle of Bishop's Road; thence
along the middle of Bishop's Road to the middle of Harewood
Road; thence along the middle of Harewood Road to the boundary
of the City of Christchurch, as described in the First Schedule hereto;
thence southerly generally along the boundary of the City of Christ-
church to the middle of Wairarapa Road; thence north-westerly
along the middle of Wairarapa Road to the middle of Russley Road
at the boundary of the County of Waimairi; thence northerly
generally along that boundary to the point of commencement.
BOUNDARIES OF THE MIDDLETON RIDING OF THE COUNTY OF
WAIMAIRI
All that area in the County of Waimairi, Canterbury Land
District, bounded by a line commencing at a point on Yaldhurst
Road at the boundary of the County of Waimairi in line with the
middle of Brodie's Road; thence north-easterly along the middle
of Brodie's Road and its production to the south-west boundary of
Rural Section 114; thence south-easterly along the south-west
boundary of Rural Section 114 and its production to the middle
of Waimairi Road; thence southerly along the middle of Waimairi
Road to a point opposite the western end of the northern boundary
of Lot 57 on a plan deposited in the office of the District Land
Registrar at Christchurch as No. 2902; thence easterly along the
northern boundaries of Lot 57 on the said Plan 2902 and Lots 2
and 3 on a plan deposited as aforesaid as No. 3307 and the production
thereof to the middle of Ilam Road; thence southerly along the
middle of Ilam Road to Kirkwood Avenue; thence easterly along
the middle of Kirkwood Avenue to the Borough of Riccarton (New
Zealand Gazette, 1932, page 554); thence southerly, easterly, and
southerly by the boundary of the said Borough of Riccarton to
the boundary of the County of Waimairi; thence south-westerly
and north-westerly along that boundary to the point of commence-
ment.
FOURTH SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE COUNTY OF HEATHCOTE
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, bounded on the
south-west, west, north, and east generally by the boundary of the
City of Christchurch, as described in the First Schedule hereto;
and on the south-east by the estuary of the Heathcote and Avon
Rivers.
Also all that area bounded towards the north and east generally
by the boundary of the City of Christchurch aforesaid from a point
on the left bank of the Heathcote River at the southernmost corner
of Rural Section 76, Block XV, Christchurch Survey District, to
the boundary of the Borough of Lyttelton (New Zealand Gazette,
1938, pages 2831–32); thence towards the south and south-east
generally by the said boundary of the Borough of Lyttelton and
the summit of the Port Hills to the southernmost corner of part
Rural Section 452; thence north-westerly along the south-western
boundary of the said part Rural Section 452, to and across the
Summit Road, and along the north-eastern boundary of part Rural
Section 37133 (closed road) and its production to the north-eastern
side of Worsley’s Track; thence towards the south-west and west
generally by the said Worsley’s Track to the north-eastern corner of
Rural Section 383; thence north-westerly by a right line to the
southernmost corner of Rural Section 76 on the left bank of the
Heathcote River aforesaid, the point of commencement.
FIFTH SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE HILLSBOROUGH RIDING OF THE COUNTY OF
HEATHCOTE
ALL that area in the County of Heathcote, Canterbury Land District,
bounded by a line commencing at a point on the northern boundary
of the County of Heathcote on the left bank of the Heathcote River
in line with the north-western boundary of Rural Section 329;
thence south-westerly to and along the said north-western boundary
of that section to Scrutton’s Road; thence southerly along the
eastern side of that road to a point in line with the boundary of
Rural Section 966; thence to and along that boundary and southerly
along the western boundaries of the said Rural Section 966 and
Rural Sections 104, 23594, and 23560 to the northern boundary of
the Borough of Lyttelton (New Zealand Gazette, 1938, pages 2831–32);
thence south-westerly generally along that boundary and the
summit of the Port Hills to the road forming the eastern boundary
of Rural Section 11549; thence north-westerly generally along
the western side of the road forming the eastern boundaries of Rural
Sections 11549, 17908, 34655, and 2135 to the north-eastern corner
of the last-mentioned section on the boundary of the aforesaid
County of Heathcote; thence north-easterly generally along that
boundary, as described in the Fourth Schedule hereto, to the point
of commencement.
Also all that area in the County of Heathcote, bounded by a
line commencing at a point on the boundary of the County of Heath-
cote, being the north-eastern corner of Rural Section 2135; thence
westerly along the northern boundary of the said Rural Section 2135
to the easternmost corner of Rural Section 2115; thence north-
westerly along the north-eastern boundary of the said Rural Section
2115 and its production across the Heathcote River to the boundary
of the County of Heathcote; thence generally northerly, easterly,
and southerly along that boundary, as described in the Fourth
Schedule hereto, to the point of commencement.
