THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE

Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby vest the control of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto, for the period of five years from the date hereof (unless previously amended or revoked under the said Act), in the undermentioned persons, namely,—

William Philip Boyd,
Samuel Hyndman,
Thomas Edward Moore,
Julia Inwood,
Kathleen Keenan,
Mary Elizabeth Kelly, and
Stanley William Thorpe,

who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the name of the Rimu Public Library Board (hereinafter referred to as “the Board”), with the powers and subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say :—

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the third Monday in each month at eight o'clock p.m. at the Rimu Public Library, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Monday, the twenty-first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and forty-six.

  2. The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting and thereafter at the annual meeting hereinafter mentioned, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

  3. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, provided that two days' notice of any such meeting is given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

  4. Any four members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose one of their number to be Chairman of such meeting.

  6. If by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise the seat of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents himself without reasonable cause from three consecutive meetings of the Board, the Governor-General shall have power to appoint any other person to be a member of the Board in his stead.

  7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

  8. The Board shall have prepared and submitted at an annual meeting to be held in the month of April in each year a report of the proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report and statement, certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall be sent to the Minister of Lands as soon as possible after each annual meeting.

  9. The Board shall control the said reserve and the building erected thereon for the purposes of a public library, and shall also afford settlers and residents of Rimu and the surrounding district such facilities for meeting within the said building as may from time to time be determined by the Board : Provided that the Board shall have power to fix reasonable charges for the use of the said building.

Revoking the Reservation over a Reserve in Block XIII, Waimea Survey District, Westland Land District

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 16th day of January, 1946

Present :

THE RIGHT HON. W. NASH PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection one (b) of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the reservation for a railway-station over the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby declare that the said land, being vested in the Crown is Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act, 1924.

Revoking the Reservation over Reserves in Town of Orwell Creek, Westland Land District

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection one (b) of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the reservation for public utility purposes over the lands described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby declare that the said lands, being vested in the Crown, are Crown lands available for disposal under the Land Act, 1924.

As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. X/97/61, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Revoking the Reservation over Part of the Lauder Domain, Otago Land District

THE RIGHT HON. W. NASH PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS a notice of intention to issue an Order in Council declaring that the part of the Lauder Domain, described in the Schedule hereto, shall cease to be subject to Part II of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, and shall be deemed to be Crown land available for disposal by way of sale for cash under the Land Act, 1924, was published in the Gazette of the eighth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and forty-five :

And whereas such notice of intention was duly laid before both Houses of Parliament in accordance with the provisions of subsection two of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928 :

And whereas the Legislative Council and the House of Representatives, by resolutions dated respectively the fourth and the sixth days of December, one thousand nine hundred and forty-five, approved the proposed revocation as aforesaid :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by subsection one of section forty-one of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that from and after the day of the date hereof the part of the Lauder Domain described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to Part II of the said Act, and shall be Crown land available for disposal by way of sale for cash under the Land Act, 1924.

PART OF LAUDER DOMAIN.—OTAGO LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area containing 105 acres 1 rood 5 perches, more or less, being part of Section 2, Block III, Lauder Survey District, bounded as follows: Commencing at a point 100 links due south of the south-western corner of Section 2A, Matakanaui Settlement; thence by the right lines bearing 89° 58′ 2236·3 links, bearing 163° 37′ 15″ 2764·2 links, bearing 3° 49′ 357 links, bearing 25° 48′ 412·1 links, bearing 31° 52′ 455·1 links, and bearing 263° 28′ 40″ 2588·9 links to the Omakau–Drybread Road; thence due north along that road 4058·6 links to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid measurements more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/291, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
