NOTICE is hereby given that in accordance with section 232
of the Companies Act, 1933, a final meeting of shareholders
will be held at the registered office of the company, Rattray Street,
Dunedin, on Monday, the 10th December, 1945, at 11 a.m., for the
purpose of receiving the liquidator’s account of the winding-up.

AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Auckland City Council proposes
to execute a certain public work—namely, the provision of
additional stock accommodation for the Auckland Municipal
Abattoir—and for the purposes of such public work the land
described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And
notice is hereby given further given that a plan of the land so required
to be taken is deposited in the office of the Town Clerk to the said
Council situate at the Town Hall, Queen Street, Auckland, and is
open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary
office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work
or by the taking of such land who have any well-grounded objections
to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said
land must state their objections in writing, and send the same,
within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the
Town Clerk at the Town Hall, Queen Street, Auckland.

SCHEDULE

ALL that piece of land containing 128 acres 21·6 perches, more or
less, being part of a block of land situated in Blocks II and VI of
the Otahuhu Survey District, originally granted to James Hamlin
by Crown Grant No. 16841 dated 3rd July, 1860, and being all the
land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 583, folio 74
(Auckland Registry), limited as to parcels.

Notice of Voluntary Winding-up Resolution

PURSUANT to section 222 of the Companies Act, 1933, notice
is hereby given that at a general meeting of the above-named
company, duly convened and held on the 1st day of November,
1945, the following special resolution was duly passed :—

“ That the company be wound up voluntarily, and that Mr.
Percy Kay, Public Accountant, of Napier, be and is hereby
appointed liquidator of the company.”

THE liquidator of Burlingham Brothers and McMillan, Limited,
which is being wound up voluntarily, doth hereby fix the
16th day of November, 1945, as the day on or before which the
creditors of the company are to prove their debts or claims and to
establish any title they may have to priority under section 258 of
the Act, or to be excluded from the benefit of any distribution made
before such debts are proved, or, as the case may be, from objecting
to such distribution.

is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of
the above-named company, duly convened and held on the 31st
day of October, 1945, the following special resolution was duly
passed :—

“ (1) That the company be wound up voluntarily ;
“ (2) That Mr. Hyman Julius Isaacs, of Dunedin, Boot-
manufacturer, be and he is hereby appointed liquidator of the
company.”

Limited, has changed its name to Macduffs Holdings,
Limited, and that the new name was this day entered on my
Register of Companies in place of the former name.

MOUNT MAUNGANUI BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING AND LEVYING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other
powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Mount Maunganui Borough
Council hereby resolves as follows :—

“ That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of prin-
cipal, interest, and other charges on the Mount Maunganui Borough
Council Water-supply Additional Loan, 1944, of £3,000, authorized
to be raised by the Mount Maunganui Borough Council under the
above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of meeting part of the cost
of constructing a reservoir and the cost of installing a water
reticulation within the Borough of Mount Maunganui, the said
Mount Maunganui Borough Council hereby makes and levies a
special rate of one penny farthing (1½d.) in the pound on the rateable
value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property
in the whole of the Borough of Mount Maunganui ; and that such
special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency
of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 21st day of August
in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a
period of fifteen (15) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Companies Act, 1933, that a general meeting of the above-
named company will be held at Room 2, 2nd Floor, National Bank
Building, Palmerston North, on the 10th day of December, 1945,
at 7.30 p.m., for the purpose of having an account laid before the
meeting showing the manner in which the winding-up has been
conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of
hearing any explanation that may be given by the liquidator, and
also of determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in
which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of
the liquidator thereof shall be disposed of.
