Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936
Taking of Fish for Sale
S. C. Brooking, Te Araroa, East Coast, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his fishing-vessel (not yet registered), using set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Hicks Bay, and also for a fish-retailer’s license to enable him to hawk his catches for sale from Cape Runaway to Ruatoria.
P. A. Munro, 44 Dickins Street, Napier, has applied for a variation of his existing license in respect of the “Dorethea,” NR. 8, so as to permit him to operate also the fishing-vessel “Fiona,” WN. 290, using trawl-nets, long lines, and hand-lines, catches to be landed at Napier.
R. J. Wilson, 8 Rigg Street, Blake Town, Greymouth, has applied for a variation of his existing license in respect of his fishing-vessel “Loch Marie,” GMH. 114, so as to permit him to operate in its place a new 52 ft. 120 h.p. vessel (under construction), using trawl-nets, long lines, and hand-lines, catches to be landed at Greymouth.
W. C. R. Harvey, French Pass, has applied for a variation of his existing license in respect of the vessel “Southern Cloud,” PN. 12, so as to permit him to use trawl-nets, in addition to the present method of fishing.
A. Amor, 8 Rophia Street, New Plymouth, has applied for a variation of his existing license in respect of the vessel “Te Kawau,” NPH. 30, so as to permit him to use also trawl-nets.
R. J. Withers, Te Kopuru, Northern Wairoa, has applied for a variation of his existing license so as to permit him to operate his 22 ft. fishing-vessel “Caroline” in place of the “Hazel,” KPA. 4, using set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Te Kopuru.
Fish Retailing
E. D. Caldwell, Paihia, Bay of Islands, has applied for a fish-retailer’s license to permit her to sell wet fish from premises in Paihia Township.
Manufacture for Sale of Footwear
M. Meason, 75 Hobson Street, Auckland, has applied for permission to manufacture children’s and maids’ shoes and sandals, sizes 7–2, and also women’s sandals, sizes 7–2, by the hand-made process.
J. C. Jack, 39 Oxford Terrace, Waterloo, Lower Hutt, has applied for permission to manufacture men’s and women’s woolley sheep-skin and leather slippers by the cemented and machine-sewn process.
Persons considering themselves materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should make any desired representations in writing not later than the 15th February, 1945, to G. L. O’Halloran, Secretary, Bureau of Industry, G.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.
