to be Registrar of Electors for the Electoral District of Otahuhu for the purposes of the Electoral Act, 1927, and its amendments, on and from the 29th day of November, 1944.

to be Chief Surveyor for the Wellington Land District for the purposes of the Land Act, 1924, on and from the 15th day of January, 1945.
Basil Herbert Humphrey
to be Registrar of Electors for the Electoral District of Onehunga for the purposes of the Electoral Act, 1927, and its amendments, on and from the 3rd day of January, 1945.
Victor Thompson
to be Deputy Actuary of Friendly Societies for the purposes of section 2 of the Friendly Societies Amendment Act, 1922, on and from the 17th day of July, 1944.
Basil Herbert Humphrey
to be Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of Onehunga, on and from the 3rd day of January, 1945.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries, Borough of Green Island
Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 24th January, 1945.
IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be excluded from the County of Taieri and included in the Borough of Green Island.
All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE
AREA PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THE COUNTY OF TAIERI AND INCLUDED IN THE BOROUGH OF GREEN ISLAND
ALL that area containing 1 acre 3 roods 31 poles, more or less, being Lots 1 to 5, Township of Abbotsford Extension No. 2, parts of Section 60, Block VII, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District, and part of the North Taieri Road. Bounded towards the north-east by North Taieri Road to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Lot 15; Township of Abbotsford Extension, 442·2 links and 106 links; across that road, and towards the north-east by Lots 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, and Part 10 to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Lot 5, Township of Abbotsford Extension No. 2, 425 links; across the said North Taieri Road and towards the south-east by Lots 1 and 3, D.P. 634, 216·13 links; towards the south-west by the Fernhill Branch Railway, 62·0 links and 626·8 links; and towards the north-west by said railway, 385·4 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

ALL that area in the County of Heathcote, Canterbury Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the boundary of the City of Christchurch (New Zealand Gazette, 1942, pages 2743–4), being a point on the north-western side of Major Hornbrook’s Road in line with the south-eastern boundary of Lot 48 on plan deposited in the Canterbury District Land Registry Office at Christchurch as No. 3721; thence proceeding south-westerly along the north-western side of Major Hornbrook’s Road as aforesaid and the north-western boundaries of Lots 1, 2, and 4 on plan deposited as aforesaid as No. 10015; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundaries of Lot 5 on plan deposited as aforesaid as No. 10015 and Lots 7 and 1 on plan deposited as aforesaid as No. 9478 to and across Major Hornbrook’s Road; thence south-easterly generally along the north-eastern side of that road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of R.S. 36793 (closed road); thence to and along that boundary across the Summit Road and along the eastern side of Hill Top Road and the north-eastern boundaries of Rural Sections 36956 (closed road) and 24077Y (closed road) to the intersection of that boundary with the western boundary of the Borough of Sumner (New Zealand Gazette, 1944, page 1036); thence northerly generally along the western boundary of that borough to the easternmost corner of Reserve 4324; being a point on the boundary of the City of Christchurch, as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1944, page 1299; thence north-westerly along that boundary to its intersection with the boundary of the City of Christchurch, as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1942, pages 2743–4 aforesaid, at a point on the north-eastern side of Christchurch–Sumner Road in line with the eastern boundary of Lot 71 on plan deposited as aforesaid as No. 3838; thence south-westerly generally along the said boundary of the City of Christchurch to the point of commencement.
