who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of
His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship :
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of
section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land
is taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby
specifies the 1st day of November, 1945, as the date on which the
said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that parcel of land containing one hundred and forty-two (142)
acres one (1) rood eleven (11) perches, more or less, being Allotments
203, 205, and 207, Taupiri Parish, and being all the land comprised
in certificate of title, Vol. 713, folio 252.

Also all that parcel of land containing one hundred and forty-one
(141) acres three (3) roods thirty-four decimal one (34·1) perches,
being parts Allotments 202, 204, and 206, Taupiri Parish, and
being the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 567,
folio 79, limited as to parcels (Auckland Registry).

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice
declaring Land taken for the Settlement of a Discharged
Serviceman

———

WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of
the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the
land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the
Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies :
And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application
has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the appli-
cation relates is farm land suitable or adaptable for the settlement
of a discharged serviceman :
And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the
Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition
of the land, did on the 11th day of May, 1945, make an order
determining the basic value of the land :
And whereas an appeal from the said order was made within
the time prescribed by the said Act :
And whereas the said appeal has been withdrawn :
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman
who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of
His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship :
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of
section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land
is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and hereby
specifies the 31st day of May, 1946, as the date on which the said
land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

(223) acres and thirty-eight (38) perches, more or less, being part
Lot 3 on Deposited Plan 10361, being part Pakarau Block in

certificate of title, Vol. 316, folio 127 (Auckland Registry).

Industrial Man-power Emergency Regulations 1944.—Amendment to
Declaration of Essential Undertakings No. 158

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 11
of the Industrial Man-power Emergency Regulations 1944, the
Minister of Industrial Man-power doth hereby amend Declaration of
Essential Undertakings No. 158 by inserting after the words “ Lake
Tekapo ” the words “ and the construction of a storage dam and
work incidental thereto at the Cobb River Hydro-electric Power-
station.”

Dated this 11th day of October, 1945.

Industrial Man-power Emergency Regulations 1944.—Amendment to
Declaration of Essential Undertakings No. 161

———

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 11
of the Industrial Man-power Emergency Regulations 1944, the
Minister of Industrial Man-power doth hereby amend Declaration of
Essential Undertakings No. 161 by deleting the words—

“ All operations of the Engineering, Architectural, and
Housing Construction Divisions of the Ministry of Works and
the Public Works Department, and all operations of the Hydro-
electric Division of the Public Works Department,”

and substituting therefor the words—

“ All operations of the Hydro-electric Division of the
Public Works Department, and also all work performed by
engineers, assistant engineers, architects, assistant architects,
draughtsmen, draughting assistants, inspectors of works, clerks
of works, quantity surveyors, overseers, sub-overseers, foremen,
welding inspectors, plant inspectors, town planners, land
surveyors, engineer’s assistants, chairmen, building control
investigating officers, technical assistants, and workshops
managers on the permanent and temporary staff of the Ministry
of Works and Departments of State administered by the
Minister of Works.”

Taking of Fish for Sale

R. Watson, Andrew Street, Napier, has applied for a variation
in the conditions of his industrial fishing license to permit him to
operate in addition to the “ Silver Foam,” NR. 10, a 51 ft. vessel
(to be constructed or purchased), using trawl-nets, set-nets, drag-
nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed
at Napier.

W. B. Reid, 30 Ottawa Road, Ngaio, Wellington, has applied
for a license to permit him to operate his 30 ft. 30 h.p. vessel
“ Heather ” (not yet registered), using drag-nets, long lines, hand-
lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Tangimoana.

A. F. Love, Onerahi, Whangarei, North Auckland, has applied
for a license to permit him to operate his 14 ft. vessel “ Iowner ”
(not yet registered), using set-nets, long lines, and hand-lines, catches
to be landed at Onerahi.

A. W. Davis, Gummies Bush R.D., Invercargill, has applied for
a license to permit him to operate his 33 ft. 25 h.p. vessel “ Alert ”
(not yet registered), using long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots,
catches to be landed at Riverton.

A. Subritzky, Te Kopuru, Auckland, has applied for a license
to permit him to operate his 26 ft. 10 h.p. vessel “ Gale ” (not yet
registered), using set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, and hand-lines,
catches to be landed at Te Kopuru.

J. P. Moyle, 190 Bank Street, Whangarei, has applied for a
license to permit him to operate his 22 ft. 18 h.p. vessel “ Manaiā ”
(not yet registered), using long lines and hand-lines, catches to be
landed at Whangarei.

H. S. Osgood, care of Working-men’s Club, Blenheim, has
applied for a license to permit him to operate his 40 ft. 20 h.p.
vessel “ Brit ” (not yet registered), using trawl-nets, set-nets, drag-
nets, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Blenheim.

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit

G. B. Motors, Ltd., have applied for a license to resell motor-
spirit from two petrol pumps to be installed at proposed garage
and service-station premises situated at King Street, Opotiki.

G. N. McKinnon, 63 Maunu Road, Whangarei, has applied for
a license to resell motor-spirit from service-station premises to be
erected in John Street, Whangarei.

J. A. Brown, Commercial Motors, has applied for a license to
resell motor-spirit from one petrol pump to be installed at garage
premises situated at 81 Castle Street, Dunedin.

Julius Alexander Johnson, has applied for a license to resell
motor-spirit from one petrol pump to be installed at garage premises
situated at Huatoki.

Himatangi Stores, Ltd., have applied for a license to resell
motor-spirit from one petrol pump to be installed at store premises
situated at Himatangi Beach, and sales of motor-spirit otherwise
than through a pump from the same premises.

Persons considering themselves materially affected by the
decision of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should
make any desired representations in writing not later than the
1st November, 1945, to the Secretary, Bureau of Industry, G.P.O.
Box 3025, Wellington.
