BOROUGH OF TE KUITI
INCREASING NUMBER OF MEMBERS OF COUNCIL
NOTICE is hereby given of the following resolution passed at
a special meeting of the Te Kuiti Borough Council held on
Tuesday, the 28th day of August, 1945 :
“ In exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 148 of
the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, the Te Kuiti Borough
Council hereby resolves, by way of special order, to increase the
number of members of the said Council from the Mayor and six
Councillors to the Mayor and nine Councillors.”
Confirmed at a meeting of the Council held on Wednesday,
the 26th day of September, 1945, and ordered to take effect as
from 15th October, 1945.

the Medical Register of the Dominion of New Zealand ; and that I
have deposited the evidence of my qualification in the office of
the Department of Health at Palmerston North.

APPOINTMENT OF MEMBER OF THE LOWER WAIHAO WATER-RACE
MANAGING RATEPAYERS' COMMITTEE
In accordance with the provisions of the Water-supply Amendment
Act, 1913, I hereby notify that the Waimate County Council
has duly appointed Donald Patrick McDonald (jun.), Farmer,
Waikakahi, Waimate, as a member of the Lower Waihao Water-
race Managing Ratepayers’ Committee to fill the vacancy caused
by the resignation of Arthur William Barnett.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP
NOTICE is hereby given that the partnership hitherto existing
between THOMAS ALASTAIR MACFARLANE and COLIN EDWARD
WATSON, as Medical Practitioners at Otorohanga, has been dissolved
as from the 30th day of September, 1945, by mutual consent. All

MAURICEVILLE COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Extract from the minutes of proceedings of the Mauriceville
County Council at a meeting of such Council held on the
17th day of September, 1945.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Counties Act, 1920, the Local Bodies’ Loans
Act, 1926, and all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the
Mauriceville County Council hereby resolves as follows :-
“That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest,
principal, and other charges on a loan of eight hundred pounds
(£800), authorized to be raised by the Mauriceville County Council
pursuant to the provisions of section 25 of the Local Bodies’ Loans
Act, 1926, for the purposes of renewing the Kopuaranga Stream
Bridge on No. 443 Mauriceville-Hastwell Main Highway, and all
other charges incidental thereto, the Mauriceville County Council
hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-half of a penny (½d.)
in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value)
of all rateable property in the whole of the County of Mauriceville ;
and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during
the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day
of September in each and every year during the currency of such
loan, being a period of twenty (20) years or until the loan is fully
paid off.”
Moved by Councillor O. Welch, seconded by Councillor A.
Forsberg, and carried.
The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants
of the County of Mauriceville was hereunto affixed at the office of
and pursuant to a resolution of the Mauriceville County Council
in the presence of--

WAIKOHU COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by section 78 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926,
the Waikohu County Council hereby resolves as follows :-
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on the proportion of the public debt of the Opotiki County
transferred to the Waikohu County Council under agreement on
transfer of portion of the Opotiki County to the Waikohu County,
the Waikohu County Council hereby makes and levies a special
rate of twopence in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable
property of the Opotiki Special-rating Area, comprising the whole
of the area transferred from the Opotiki County to the Waikohu
County by Proclamation on the 1st day of June, 1945, and including
Mangatu I (part west), D.P. 1551, Block I, Ngateretere Survey
District; Part 19, D.P. 1516, of Mangatu I, Block IX, Arowhana ;
Part 28, D.P. 2384, of Mangatu I, Blocks VI, X, Arowhana Survey

such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the

such debt is fully paid off.”
In witness whereof the common seal of the Chairman,
Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Waikohu was affixed
hereto, this 27th day of September, 1945.
