Arrangements for First Election, &c., Reporoa Drainage District
Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 26th September, 1945.
HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint—
Alfred Henry Dukeson, Esquire, of Rotorua,
to be Returning Officer and person to prepare the Roll of Electors in connection with the first election of the Board of the Reporoa Drainage District; also to appoint Saturday, the 27th day of October, 1945, to be the day, and the Public Hall, Reporoa, to be the place for holding such election; also to appoint Monday, the 29th day of October, 1945, and 11.30 a.m., to be the day and the hour, and the office of Mr. A. H. Dukeson, Public Accountant, Tutanekai Street, Rotorua, to be the place for holding the first meeting of the Board so elected.

Notice respecting Proposed Abolition of the Palmerston North River District, County of Kairanga
Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 24th September, 1945.
IT is hereby notified that the Manawatu Catchment Board has presented a petition to His Excellency the Governor-General under the River Boards Act, 1908, and the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941, praying that the Palmerston North River District may be abolished. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed abolition which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

Transmitting and Receiving Officers for the Service of Notices by Telegraph

IN pursuance of the powers vested in the Minister of Telegraphs by the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), and by the regulations made on the 12th May, 1914, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 21st May, 1914, the following officers, at the addresses set against their names, are hereby appointed transmitting and receiving officers for the purpose of dealing with all notices by telegraph sent under the said Act or regulations, and of signing such certificates in relation to the service of any such notices as are required or authorized to be signed or given under the said Act or the regulations aforesaid:—

Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, Section 3
IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, the Minister of Transport doth hereby declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle on any road, street, or other place to which the public have access therein shall be subject to the maximum speed limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.
SCHEDULE
SITUATED within Cook County—
All that area at Wainui Beach, consisting of the Gisborne—Te Araroa State Highway, commencing at a point 2½ chains measured along the said State highway in a westerly direction from its junction with Murphy Road, and terminating at a point 3 chains measured along the said State highway in a southerly direction from Okitu Bridge, a distance of approximately one mile.
