Declared Goods (Control of Prices) Notice 1945, No. 3

PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by clause 9 (1) of
the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939, Amend-
ment No. 3,* the Price Tribunal hereby gives the following notice :—

NOTICE AS TO DECLARED GOODS

  1. This notice may be cited as the Declared Goods (Control
    of Prices) Notice 1945, No. 3.

  2. All new goods of any of the kinds or classes specified in the
    Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be goods to which the
    provisions of clause 9 of the Control of Prices Emergency Regu-
    lations 1939, Amendment No. 3, are applicable.

SCHEDULE

KINDS OR CLASSES OF GOODS DECLARED TO BE SUBJECT TO CLAUSE 9
OF THE CONTROL OF PRICES EMERGENCY REGULATIONS 1939,
AMENDMENT NO. 3

  1. Radios.
  2. Electric washing-machines.
  3. Electric vacuum-cleaners.
  4. Refrigerators.
  5. Electric radiators.
  6. Electric jugs.
  7. Electric kettles.
  8. Electric irons (both hand and power).
  9. Electric toasters.
  10. Water-heating elements, thermostats and covers.
  11. Water-heating systems.
  12. Immersion heaters.
  13. Farm tractors.
  14. Commercial tractors.
  15. Motor-cars.
  16. Motor-trucks complete with cab and body.
  17. Motor-trucks (chassis only).
  18. Winches, bulldozer blades, and power shovels suitable for
    attachment to farm tractors or commercial tractors.
  19. Farm implements and machinery.
  20. Spare parts, accessories, or components of any of the above-
    mentioned goods.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The foregoing notice does not operate as a prohibition of the
sale of any goods, but is only a preliminary declaration specifying
the several classes of goods with respect to which the Tribunal has
authority to prohibit sales under the powers conferred on it by
subclause (2) of clause 9 of the regulations cited in the notice. It
is not the intention of the Tribunal to exercise its powers of pro-
hibition (except in the event of special circumstances) for at least
one week after the publication of the above notice in the Gazette.
With respect to goods of the kinds specified in the Schedule to the
notice the Tribunal advises that application for its approval of
proposed prices should be made to the Tribunal as soon as possible,
and draws attention of all persons concerned to the fact that, at
any time after the expiration of one week from the publication of
the notice, it may proceed, in accordance with the powers conferred
on it by the regulations, to prohibit the sale of any such goods
otherwise than at prices fixed or approved by the Tribunal.

Surplus War Assets for Sale

THE War Assets Realization Board, Defence Services Building,
Bunny Street, Wellington (postal address, P.O. Box 5080,
Lambton Quay), invites offers for :—

METALS (SCRAP, FERROUS, AND NON-FERROUS). Located at
various depots throughout the Dominion. Includes
aluminium, brass, bronze, copper, lead, alloy, cast iron,
duralumin, iron, and steel. Locations and quantities
available on application.

7-cylinder, twenty-nine 9-cylinder, and twenty-two
12-cylinder. Held at Nelson.

FITTINGS FOR FIXING AMBULANCE STRETCHERS IN CANOPY
TRUCKS. Quantity, 317 complete sets and 39½ part sets.
Held at Ngaruawahia, Wellington, and Christchurch.

CORDAGE, OLD. Approximately 20 tons. Held in Auckland.

Offers close with the Board’s Secretary, to whom they should be
addressed in envelopes marked “ Offer for . . . . . . ,” at noon on
Monday, 24th September, 1945. Further particulars and conditions
of sale are obtainable from the Board’s Wellington office, the offices
of the Board’s District Executive Officers, Dilworth Building,
Queen Street, Auckland, and old Art Gallery Building, Durham
Street, Christchurch, and also at the District Storekeeper’s Office,
Public Works Department, Dunedin.

Public Trust Office.—Appointment of Agent at Queenstown

IT is notified for public information that Mr. Benjamin Marshall
has been appointed to the position of Agent of the Public
Trust Office at Queenstown.

Unclaimed Lands.—Notice by the Public Trustee under the Public
Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II), and its Amendments

TO the owner of the following land, that is to say : All that
parcel of land containing 40 acres, more or less, being the
middle portion of Allotment 36, Parish of Waikare, Whangarei
County. Bounded on the north-east by other portion of said
Allotment 36, 2170 links ; on the south-east by a road 100 links
wide, 1736 links ; on the south-west by other portion of said Allot-
ment 36, 2830 links ; and on the north-west by Allotment 37 of the
said parish, 1600 links ; and being the whole of the land described
in an unregistered Crown Grant to Edwin Robert Braggins, of
Auckland, Carpenter :

Whereas, after due inquiry, the owner of the above described
land cannot be found : And whereas the said owner has no known
agent in New Zealand :

Now, the Public Trustee hereby calls upon such owner, within
six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this
Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his title
to the said land, and if he fails or neglects so to do the Public Trustee
will exercise as regards the said land the powers and authorities
granted to him in and by the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II),
and its amendments.
