The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman

WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies :

And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman :

And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 2nd day of August, 1945, make an order determining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court :

And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship :

Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and hereby specifies the 31st day of August, 1945, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT

ALL that parcel of land containing twenty-seven (27) acres three (3) roods thirty-eight decimal four (38·4) perches, more or less, being part Horowhenua 11b 36 Subdivision 2L 1E, and being also parts Lot 8 on Deposited Plan 5849, situated in Block XIII, Mount Robinson Survey District, and being all the land in certificate of title, Vol. 319, folio 208 (Wellington Registry).

As witness my hand, this 17th day of August, 1945.
