Date of Election by Fire-insurance Companies to fill Extraordinary Vacancy on the New Plymouth Board

Wellington, 13th August, 1945.
PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, and the rules thereunder, the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act doth appoint Friday, the 31st August, 1945, to be the date for holding the election of one member of the New Plymouth Fire Board by the fire-insurance companies concerned, such election being held to fill the extraordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. A. G. Ross.

The Ammunition Workers’ (Colonial Ammunition Co., Ltd.) Labour Legislation Suspension Order 1945, No. 2
——
IN pursuance of the Labour Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Labour doth hereby order as follows :—

This Order may be cited as the Ammunition Workers’ (Colonial Ammunition Co., Ltd.) Labour Legislation Suspension Order 1945, No. 2.

This Order applies to the Colonial Ammunition Co., Ltd., and to workers employed by that company on work coming within the scope of the Colonial Ammunition Co., Ltd. Employees’ award dated 29th day of May, 1942, and recorded in 42 Book of Awards 446.

The provisions of all Acts and regulations thereunder and of the said award are hereby suspended in so far as such provisions operate to prevent the workers referred to in clause 2 hereof from being employed on the terms and conditions herein set forth.

The workers hereinbefore referred to may be employed from Monday to Friday (both days inclusive) of each week from 7.30 a.m. till 12 noon and from 12.30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The Ammunition Workers’ (Colonial Ammunition Co., Ltd.) Labour Legislation Suspension Order 1945 is hereby revoked.

This Order shall come into effect from the day of the date hereof.

Exemption Order under the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940
——
PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors, shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply :—
A motor-driver’s license issued under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in Column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy trade motor for the purpose of the business of the respective employer described in Column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize him, while he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy trade motor-vehicle for any other purpose.

PURSUANT to the Bobby Calf Marketing Regulations 1939, notice has been received that—

Declaring a Bobby Calf Marketing Pool Area
——
PURSUANT to the Bobby Calf Marketing Regulations 1939, I, Benjamin Roberts, Minister of Marketing, being satisfied that a sufficient majority of the producers in the area of land defined in the Schedule hereto are desirous that such area should be declared a pool area for the marketing of bobby calves, do hereby declare such area of land defined as aforesaid to be a Bobby Calf Marketing Pool Area for the purpose of the said regulations under the name set out in the said Schedule, and I do hereby further declare that this notice shall take effect on the 24th day of August, 1945.

ALL that area of land constituting the Rangiora County.

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman
——
WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies :
And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman :
And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 18th day of July, 1945, make an order determining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court :
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship :
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and hereby specifies the 4th day of September, 1945, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing seventy-eight (78) acres two (2) roods two decimal seven (2·7) perches, more or less, being River Section 9 and parts of River Sections 10 and 11, West Taieri Survey District, and being part of the land shown on Deeds Plan 344, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 267, folio 107, limited as to parcels (Otago Registry).
